25.01.2022 While every one is sitting around bored this weekend because there is no Golden Mount Festival on. How about making some suggestions on ways we can improve the GMF. Different ideas, ways to run things better. The GMF committee really want the festival to continue, but we would like to keep in fresh and relevant in this changing world. list any things, ideas in the comments ,cheers Graeme

21.01.2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AT 6:30 PM 9TH SEPTEMBER At the Mount Morgan Community Services Hall... (18 Morgan St, old Soldiers Rooms) The committee will be standing down, so we need some new people to take over running the Golden Mount Festival. to be eligible to vote at the AGM you must be a member, we will have more information in the weeks ahead.

14.01.2022 Hi all..... due to the Corona virus, there is a possibility the Golden Mount Festival will be cancelled for this year. . We will need to abide by our local council's decision regarding this, so I'll keep you informed.
11.01.2022 We can't do our Golden Mount Festival physically this year but we can do it on Facebook! Let's kick things off with some memories from 1982! The year we celebrated the Centenary of Mount Morgan. The year the Running of the Cutter statue was put in place. The year Queensland Rail painted a loco GOLD in honour of Mount Morgan's contribution to this State and country. Were you around back then? We'd love to see your pictures and hear your memories of the Centenary of Mount Morgan.
09.01.2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AT 6:30 PM 9TH SEPTEMBER TONIGHT. GMFA Annual General Meeting is to be held at the Community Service Hall, Morgan Street on Wednesday 9th September at 6.30pm. ... The committee will be standing down, so we need some new people to take over running the Golden Mount Festival. To be eligible to vote at the AGM you must be a member. There will be an opportunity to pay our membership or to join up before the meeting.
08.01.2022 Unfortunately only 5 people attended the AGM last night, so we did not hold the meeting. The committee did not step down, so we will reschedule the AGM in a few weeks. The Golden Mount Festival will probably not be held in the future, unless some people step up to help out. Call me or one of the other committee members if you would like more information. 05.01.2022 It's with great sadness and disappointment that we announce the cancellation of this year’s Golden Mount Festival due to the Corona Virus precautions that have been implemented. The safety of our community and visitors is of the most importance to us, we feel that especially with our elderly residents this is the best decision to make. Market stall holders will have their money returned and any sponsorship money we have received will be returned.... We would like to say Thank You to the people that have been helping us along the way and the Rockhampton Regional Council for their support. We hope everyone remains well and will welcome the festival back in 2021. Golden Mount Festival Assn. Committee
03.01.2022 Well we have just got through the first May Day Weekend in over 40 years without a Golden Mount Festival. How do you feel about it ? The GMFA really needs some expressions of interest from the people of Mount Morgan who are keen to help out with running the 2021 festival. Please be careful posting photos of people and children, make sure the people in the photo are happy to have it on Facebook. Crowd shots should be ok, thanks Graeme
01.01.2022 GOING ONCE, GOING TWICE......... The date is set for our final attempt at an AGM. December 2nd, 6pm at Mount Morgan Soldiers Rooms. We must be clear if a new committee is not formed the Golden Mount Festival will NOT proceed. ... What we need! 1. Proactive people willing to put on the best festival Mount Morgan has ever seen! 2. Lots of them to make the job easier. 3. People with skills to organise, co-ordinate and market the event. 4. People who can knuckle down over the the three days to physically assist. This could be just a few hours on one day at a single event 5. Other organisations who may want to "adopt a segment" of the festival week-end to co-ordinate, many hands make light work. It is our ambition to have lots of Mount Morgan groups, clubs etc working together to pull off a brilliant festival to be remembered.
