18.01.2022 2 Shows down and another one this week. We hope to get some photos of the next one for you! Had some lovely feedback, Frankie is of course very popular and our elderly guests at the show have given us very positive feedback about the actual show too! To quote a male Resident "I loved your performance and your family". x

17.01.2022 Doing our Golden Oldies music show tomorrow for the Resis at Churches of Christ Campus Little Mountain. Looking forward to it, warming up the vocal chords ... hope you guys are too! x

16.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who liked /shared our post recently - it's really helpful in spreading the word - we are a new act up here on Sunshine Coast - so if you know anyone in the aged care industry who might be interested in more info about the show please do put them in touch! We really enjoyed our Buderim Views show recently with great feedback from the residents - loving it! It's so good to see smiles and tears, whatever they feel, creating a space to sing and laugh and think about life at our many different stages. Cheers. 03.01.2022 When I was 7, I had the best teacher ever. Mrs Macintosh. She taught us all the old songs she knew - and, she being about 70, knew a fair few. Daisy Daisy, You are my sunshine and the lesser known I’m forever blowing bubbles which was definitely my favourite. I loved her and I loved singing. I continued to sing those songs in echoey bathrooms throughout my life and hone a love for all things Grannie. Vintage fashion, hearty stews, leaf tea, acknowledging strangers passing on ...the street yes, all they've given us and still have to give. Which brings me here, now. To sing old favourites with old people, adding in some of my own ballads, inspired by those early songs with simple but poignant words and singalong tunes plus some toe tapping or heart-reflecting instrumentals. Music heals and gives joy. I luckily married a man with a good-head-of-hair named Ben, who plays a mean piano and happens to also live as if he’s from the past - writing poetry, donning old man trousers, a moustache akin to Clarke Gable and a loveable manner that makes the ladies at the charity shop counter blush. And so, together, we present : Belle of the Ball and the Golden Oldies. A show for people in care homes and senior citizen clubs. They are the Golden Oldies really, not the songs. Treasures to us. Gold. I love hearing and sharing stories, I love the way the elderly often see life less seriously and I don't mind a good ol’ moan about gammy knees and achy hips. I miss my Grandmas’ silliness and mischievous smile and my other Grandmas’ bear hugs and impossible games of scrabble. I will forever remember the hilarious performances from Great Auntie Ethel of Come up and see me some time with pantyhose for comic relief pulled over her face - I miss all those people and the energy they gave - so I’m taking up the mantel in the hope of giving something back. We are now open to bookings - so please spread the word - the Sunshine Coast apparently boast’s the largest elderly community in all of Australia so I am looking forward to many shows and lots of fun! To have us Come and see you some time - please contact me on 0402164852 or email - [email protected] or message us on here and we will get back to you to discuss any details including our fee/ your budget. (attention Jodie J Hill Emma McLeish Rebecca Hayes my fellow grade 2 pals!)

02.01.2022 Show this week! Practising some Elvis... Maybe I didn't treat you quite as good as I should have - Maybe I didn't love you, quite as often as I could have - Little things I should have said and done, I just never took the time... (but) You were always on my mind, you were always on my mind....
