23.01.2022 Solid performance by our under 14 girls this morning against a strong Surf Coast side Heading into a gusty north wind the girls came in at half time with a 2-1 lead with both Abi & Penny scoring their first goals for the year There was no stopping the girls in the second half, holding their ground against a skillful Surf Coast The girls tackled hard and defended well moving the ball forward creating numerous scoring opportunities The final score Golden Plains 6 - Surf Coast 2... 20.01.2022 Under 13 Boys had tough game against a strong North outfit Our young squad persevered throughout the game and gave it everything even though they played without a bench in the second half due to injury Coming in at half time only 2-1 down with a goal from Ryan was a fantastic effort, however our young charges were tiring as the game progressed The team once again did the club proud Final score North 4-Gpsc 1... 19.01.2022 Good morning everyone Update Covid-19 & Implementation of Stage 3 Restrictions As you would be aware, stage 3 restrictions have been re-implemented last night at 11.59pm This means that Community Sport must cease for the next six weeks and all our Club activities and competition must also cease for the next six weeks AMAZING EFFORT ... It has been an absolutely amazing effort by every single person at the Club over the past few weeks and months To all the players, coaches, parents, families and friends - we have come together and managed to field teams in practically all age groups under extremely stressful and frustrating times Congratulations and Thank You for a wonderful show of togetherness and resilience in getting this stop/start season under way THE NEXT SIX WEEKS We wish each and every one you all the very best over the next six weeks Its a tough time for everyone, we will get true this together as we are united by this beautiful game Stay safe, fit and healthy Looking forward to see you all again soon DOWN THE TRACK Our Club is in a wonderful position due to the great work done by everyone, moving forward training and playing games with great enthusiasm and momentum in recent weeks Should restrictions be eased in the coming weeks and it is safe to do so, and we once again have the opportunity to play, we will together do what ever we can to have everyone play and enjoy this great game We await for directives from Football Victoria as to what form if any that may take In the meantime, thank you all again Its amazing how far we have come in a short time Let us continue to show amazing reslience and determination on the home front now as we work through the next few weeks and look forward with great anticipation seeing each other again soon GO EAGLES

19.01.2022 Saturday Results for our Girls Teams Under 12 Girls 3-nil down at half time against Lara in what turned out to be a bruising affair for some and a decent elbow to the face of Juliette The girls came out at half time to show some great resilience and toughness The second half finished with a goal each team... An amazing second half Final result 4-1 Under 14 Girls The girls had a tough task heading out to Barwon Heads Starting the game with only 9 players as we welcomed Pippa to team The girls played their best game of the season so far with a gutsy and we'll structured game Congratulations to players and coaches coming home with their first win of the season Final result 4-1 Great effort by everyone with Pippa scoring a hat trick and Elsie scoring also with 1 Well done, the team developing well GO EAGLES

10.01.2022 'McWhinneys Panels' Under 13s Immensely proud of all our teams today With a special mention to our under 13 mixed team Congratulations under 13s with a great start to their season with a 3-1 win against Lara away As some of you know it has been a frustrating and somewhat difficult process in getting the team up this season for a number of reasons... 08.01.2022 Light at the end of this 2020 Covid tunnel for Golden Plains Soccer Club FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney on Friday announced $464,535 towards the Golden Plains Soccer Facility Upgrade project from the government’s 2019-20 The World Game Facilities Fund... The club has seen huge growth & interest in recent years, however the current facilities have stopped the club reaching its potential This funding will enable the construction of two new female friendly change rooms, referee change room, first aid room and storage to service the recently constructed second soccer pitch and incorporate the installation of pitch 2 lighting and perimeter fencing Female participation at the Club has been an integral part of its development right from day one These facility upgrades will ensure female participation will continue to develop and grow in our community These are indeed exciting times for all girls and women playing the sport as Australia together with New Zealand host the 2023 Fifa Womens World Cup Congratulations and thank you with the utmost gratitude to Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney and the Golden Plains Shire for their continued support in bringing these wonderful facilities to the whole Golden Plains Community Special thanks to our shire councillors both current and past for recognising the important need to have facilities such as these for our community to enjoy, ensuring our residents have the opportunity to play sport, be fit and healthy, and coming together in our ever growing region So much work goes on behind the scenes by dedicated council staff whose hard work detailing applications and lobbying for funding quite often goes unnoticed Thank you all for your on going support and tireless efforts in helping to make our community a great place for everyone to live This together with Federal funding for building upgrades of $832,000 will undoubtedly provide the Golden Plains Community with a facility they can be very proud of Congratulations to all our players, coaches, members and families Looking forward to the future GO EAGLES!!
