08.01.2022 Covid-19 sure has given 2020 an interesting start. Unfortunately it was even able to reach us down here in god’s country and caused boarder closures, races to be cancelled and even a temporary ban on riding dirt bikes. As you can imagine all of this had a significant impact on the amount of Goldentyres being bought.. but not in the way that you would think. With a lot of businesses temporarily closed and nothing to do except odd-jobs around the yard and annoy the wife, for t...he first time ever on such a large scale the home lockdown caused partners all over Australia to actually encourage their husbands to go dirt bike riding and GET OUT of the house! Here at GT Aus we run a tight ship and were able to keep working everyday and getting tyres to dealers all over the country. In fact there were so many orders during the lockdown that we went through a 3 month supply of everyones favourite - the GT333 in 4 weeks. It turns out the increased Goldentyre consumption wasn’t just Aussies going for a blast to get away from the Misses, I’ve been told our friends across the pond are VERY TIRED after a record month as well. It really has been a crazy year so far and we’re still taking it as it comes. In roughly 3 weeks time we will have stock of nearly all the popular part numbers including the G-Mousse, but we really were caught out on the mass 120/100-18 GT333 buying. Some days it felt like guys were stashing them away inside the secret 3-ply Kleenex pyramids. There are other options for that size tyre, or for avid GT333 users who I know are out there, the 110/100-18 will be good to go at the end of the month. Unfortunately we won’t see the 120-18 GT333 until roughly late August. In all seriousness it is awesome to see the lockdowns starting to lift and hopefully it can continue so we can see some solid racing later in the year!
