23.01.2022 Flashback! where are your hebel projects today, did they get forgotten or have they become something spectacular? Time to fess up don't be shy.
22.01.2022 Paying the price today, but enjoyed seeing a full room at Goldfields Bonsai meet on Sunday, Myles shared his Brachychiton presentation from the native symposium..., Robert had his Brachychiton on display with its recent evolution, Karli drew some excellent autumn leaves, and a table of various leaves were on show, everyone had some trees to work on. I don't have any trees with autumn show for the display table, so had a go at ikebana with some colour from our garden. David had what for my vote for the monthly award with a little maple in one of Trevor's pots, but I think with all the conversation it may have been forgotten. Enjoy Autumn everyone! See more
20.01.2022 It’s been a while since I last posted. But I am sorry to say that we have being done again. The break in happened at 5:10am Sunday 11/04/2021 morning. The burg...lars climbed the fence through my neighbors back yard and into the back of the nursery. Amongst several shohin black pines in bonsai pots, was this Japanese black pine which I grew from a seedling years ago. Whoever stole the trees, please look after them and get help in maintaining them. For all my friends out there, please keep an eye out for the sudden appearances of quality shohin black pines. Needless to say, security measures have been upgraded and increased.

17.01.2022 A World Bonsai Day 2021 message from Lindsay Bebb, Chairman of World Bonsai Friendship Federation.
13.01.2022 Thanks to our host and tutor for the day Diederik and family for welcoming us his fellow Goldfields Bonsai Society members to his piece of Australia. The main l...esson fast growing of figs, then a few of us had a little nudge in the refinement direction that we needed, sometimes a little hesitant, but I was well and truly ready with this tree after reviving it from the brink I'd held on the a branch purely because it was still alive but it was disturbing me somewhat. now its gawni can sleep better one less worry in the world. 13.01.2022 G'day All at GBS. Unfortunately I was unable to stay on Sunday. Covid was the reason. But a good one. It was the first time Our Family has had an opportunity to share an afternoon together with smiles. None the less it was wonderful to see everyone arriving and then more cars as we drove past later. WE trust You are All well and that the day was a great start to 2021. Next meeting will be a significant event as AGM's always are. There has been a small group at GBS who have b...een doing the bulk of the work for some years now. We understand that everyone has other responsibilities and commitments but it is time our Committee and Back up have a well deserved break. We have already been informed that Paul's 10 Years as President is well and truly enough. Helen and Trevor have been involved with GBS from the beginning along with David all taking on leadership roles for nearly all of that time. Please consider taking on a Position on The Committee and or a Support Role ie Newsletter, Events Managing/Exhibitions. All Roles are fairly straight forward and there will always be those to assist You. With that said here's a brief Stills Video of the activity early on Sunday, Our first GBS meeting for 2021. Regards Glenn and Alli. See more
