20.01.2022 WHERE HAS ALL THE GOOD STUFF GONE? Working as a health professional for over 12 years, I was of the opinion that we could get all the the vital minerals and vitamins from whole foods and a healthy well balanced diet. Maybe that was true 50 or so years ago, unfortunately thats not the case today. The main culprit in this disturbing nutritional trend is soil depletion. OUR SOILS ARE NUTRIENT BANKRUPT AND SO IS OUR FOOD... Modern intensive agricultural methods have stripped vital nutrients from the soil in which the food we eat grows. Sadly, each successive generation of fast-growing, pest-resistant food, laced with artificial fertilisers and chemical pesticides, is sadly becoming more and more nutrient deficient. We are growing plenty of food. No one on this planet actually needs to starve!! We've found artificial ways to makes crops grow faster, last longer, yield more and grow in conditions they were not designed to, but because of the sheer amount we (over) produce, the fruits and vegetables are now almost empty in nutrients. Over the last 100 years, average mineral levels in agricultural soils had fallen worldwide by 72 per cent in Europe, 76 per cent in Asia, 55 per cent in Australia and 85 per cent in North America. Keep in mind how much we import! Of course our foods reflect our soils. UCLA did some research back in 1997, they had a sample of spinach from 1953 and that of 1997. They tested iron levels in both samples. It was found to get the same amount of iron from the 1997 sample you would need to eat 43 bowls the get the same amount of iron from the 1953 sample. Who's got time for to eat 43 bowls of spinach!! Vitamins and minerals are the spark plugs of life. They are essential for our bodies to function properly. Dr Linus Pauling, twice Nobel Prize winner, said You can trace every sickness, every disease and every ailment to a mineral deficiency. 15.01.2022 In light of recent public furore over a viral video of a Chiropractor using spinal manipulation on an infant I would like to make a public statement that no Osteopath would EVER consider using this technique on an infant or young child, and in fact it is completely contraindicated (would not be used under any circumstances). I felt the need to post this due to the general public confusion as to the difference between chiro and osteo. Thank you
