02.01.2022 Terrific article recently in The West and has a story around 1921 Sandover Medallist Tom Outridge. Born 1898. Played his early football for H-Company cadets In Coolgardie, and in 1915 he became a league premiership player for Mines Rovers. 01.01.2022 It was with great pleasure that on the evening of Australia Day 2021 we joined with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Awards & Citizenship Ceremony to induct our latest inductees into the RUC Mining Goldfields Sporting Hall of Fame. With the annual event cancelled in 2020 we were keen to continue the inductions and hence these are dated 2020 and takes the Hall of Fame inducted Members to 44. Eileen Bracegirdle (Golf) who has become the second golfer to be inducted afte...r Barry Aslett only took up the sport in her later 30’s, and what a player she became. 37 Titles at both the Kalgoorlie Golf Club & the Returned Soldiers Golf Club (became Hannans Golf Club (1st 1963 last 1997) then numerous Foursome Titles, Mixed Titles at both clubs and Goldfields District Golf Level. Bracegirdle held course records at the Returned Soldiers/Hannans course with 81 in 1969 and 73 in 1974, the 6 Handicapper at her peak also scored a Hole in One at the 17th at the Kalgoorlie Golf Club and also enjoyed success at Boulder, Coolgardie, Kambalda, The Gold Coast and other courses on the Eastern States. Lisa MacLean (Basketball) is the first from the sport into the Goldfields Sporting Hall of Fame and travelled back to her home city to accept her induction with pride with her family and friends. Starting with the Olympians Basketball club at age 6, MacLean played in an A Grade Premiership in 1982/83 at the age of 14 and was Captain of the WA State Country Under 16s that played in the National Championships in Perth in 1983.
