23.01.2022 Had another Detecting Workshop this afternoon with Debbie Vains and her friend Tracy using the 2 Gold Monsters. both did really well in learning how to use the GMs at their best. Deb found her first gold towards the end of the day and was very happy, i think i saw a tear. i love my job. Well done Deb and all the best to you both out in the field.
23.01.2022 Had a workshop today with Brad and his girlfriend, his mate and his dog. They started out with the goldmonster and before long were digging both large and small non ferrous targets. It was only a matter of time because I saw Bunjil fly over our heads again and said i think gold will be found today. It was about 10 mins later and Brad found a nice little nugget of gold in a tailing pile about an inch down. The team also tried out the GPX and found some old mining artifacts, lots of lead and a beautiful clear crystal. Every one enjoyed the workshop very much and insisted on giving me a bonus. thank you. Well done and I wish you all the very best of luck out in the field.
22.01.2022 Had a Detecting Workshop with Neil Johnson and his Minelab GPX 5000. Neil did really well in digging all sorts of targets including a sailors button, small lead shot and the usual tin and iron. Neil is now confident with his settings and how to use his detector at its best. Well done mate and all the best of luck to you out in the field.
21.01.2022 Went out for awhile this arvo while my son was at the barbers and PO,, only had a bout half an hour so i went hard as i could and gleaned a nice speci. it was s...mall but i could feel the weight in it for its size and knew it had to be crushed and i am glad i did. notice all the gold stick out of the quartz and also the small amount on the other side meaning it was fairly solid inside. i will post pics of it crushed soon. 20.01.2022 this episode we do some Dry blowing with the Keene and Gold Buddy, Gold Finger Prospectors pulling reef gold. Rock Crusher in action and a bonus clip from my detecting workshop. Rock & Gold !!
20.01.2022 Had a detecting workshop with Glenn McGregor using the Minelab GPX. Glenn is a new chum but did well finding many small and large targets and said he enjoyed the workshop very much. He will be investing in a new gpx soon. Well done Glenn and i wish you all the best of luck out in the field.
17.01.2022 I had a fantastic day out with Darby Lee yesterday. For anyone wanting to maximise their chances of finding good gold by knowing what hints to look for as well ...as understanding why it is where it is, how it got there as well as where it is heading, i would highly recommend they hook up for a day of training and workshop. Anyone who's been prospecting for a while can point you in a direction to have a maybe average chance of finding gold on the day but the knowledge that Darby shares will give you the skills needed to find your own productive spots no matter what area you are prospecting in rather than wasting valuable time swinging a detector over unproductive ground. And you never know, you might even find a nugget like this on the day
14.01.2022 White Hills Diggings
14.01.2022 Had detecting workshops today with new-chums Michael, his wife Anne-Marie and daughter Saranna who all traveled up from Altona. Michael's weapon of choice was the Minelab SDC 2300 with a coiltek coil and the ladies decided to try out the Gold Monster. Every one did really well on all parts of the workshop finding large and small targets including lead shot. unfortunately no matter how hard we tried the gold eluded us this time but said they really enjoyed the workshop very much and learnt a great deal from the experience. Well done to the George family, you all did great.
13.01.2022 Victoria Hill. Iron Bark. (near Bendigo)
13.01.2022 Had a Detecting Workshop with Lance this morning using his brand new GPX 5000. Lance had done the workshop awhile ago with his Gold Monster but decided to upgrade. He did well learning the settings on the GPX and putting them into action. Lance's patients & persistence payed off when he gleaned his first piece of gold with his new detector. well done Lance and may the gold be with you. It was good to catch up with Rachel Brown and her daughter. We had a talk about doing some detecting and filming together in the future and i look forward to that. Rachel also found a nice piece of yella with her sdc, well done Rachel.

09.01.2022 Went out for a Whipstick Goldfields Tour and Detecting Workshop with Allan and his friend Kevin. First stop was Kamarooka Goldfields to check out the local history and and do some detecting. Second stop was Black Rock Reef for a cupper and lunch then we were off to the fabled Whoop Whoop Reef for more detecting. The fellas swapped detectors and not long after Gold was found by both at the last destination and they were very happy. Well done fellas. Caution .. These areas are muddy, slippery and strictly for 2 & 4 wheel drive vehicles and also people with a good knowledge of the Whipstick forest. There is also no mobile service out there and it is 30 miles from Bendigo in thick scrub so do not ever attempt to do this yourself. Cheers Darb.

09.01.2022 Darbs Weekend Walkabout. ep4. Big Thank You Adam Valentine for doing this episode of the weekend walkabout,. Great job Adam, much appreciated.
08.01.2022 1st day in the field after 3 months off and its great to be back doing what i love, helping others to find some yella. Had a detecting workshop this morning with Peter Tanner using his Minelab Gold Monster. Peter did really well in detecting small non ferrous targets and eventually his persistence paid off. the gold came from a brown tailing pile right on the side of a track that every one drives past. i call these silly spots because they still hold the gold if u are prepared to dig the rubbish. Well done Pete and welcome to the wonderful world of detecting. Good luck for the future and may the gold be with you.
08.01.2022 tonight's speci crushed up lightly for 2.5 grams and last nights speci all cleaned up. there was a fair bit of small gold that came out of it too but i didnt ta...ke a pic of that. also, many thanks to Adam Valentine for giving me a new wooden handle and grip for the gpx a few months ago, its a bloody ripper mate. 05.01.2022 Had a detecting workshop this morning with Shane Chapman using his modded GPX 4500. Shane did really well in learning about geology and settings for the 45. We dug many small targets but towards the end there was a very faint sound and Shane nearly missed it, i said "did u hear that cob"? go slower, he then heard it. She sounded sweet too, like it was saying hello, so i dug down about half a ft and had the clay ridden target in my hand and roughly cleaned it and saw a glint. ...then i dropped it quickly found it again then handed it over to Shane and said, whats that look like mate, he said, i dunno what gold looks like i laughed and said clean it with abit of spit cob and he soon saw what it was, I said "thats GOLD". Well there was some excitement in the air as it was of a good size and Shane's first piece of gold ever. Well done Shane and all the very best to you out in the field. Makes me proud to see this happen every day for a week during my workshops and i can not say how long it will last so get in fast, before its all gone. See more
05.01.2022 Detecting at the Chinese diggings in Eaglehawk. Gold found in conglomerate rock. Tips and Tricks on the SDC 2300 with Craig Skinner and lots more.
04.01.2022 Had a Detecting Workshop with Mark Colbertaldo & his Daughter from Sunbury this arvo, they started out on the Gold Monster. I saw Bunjil fly over and i said to Mark that some one will get gold soon as it always happens to me that way. Sure enough withing 20 mins of detecting Mark had gleaned a beautiful speci with gold right through it and we were all excited. Mark then shifted over to the GPX and his Daughter remained on the monster. We picked up 3 or 4 nice crystals and then i seen a flock of Bunjils flying over out heads, then bingo, a nice picker of gold, u should have seen the excitement, totally amazing stuff. Every one got gold (i got a bonus $) and it was awesome. Congratulations and Well done to you both on finding your first gold. Welcome to detecting and I wish u both all the best of luck out in the field.
03.01.2022 Had a detecting workshop today with new chum Madeleine Elizabeth using her Minelab Gold Monster. Maddie traveled from Williamstown to Eaglehawk to do the workshop and did very well in hearing large and small targets including lead shot. Every one is different when it comes to detecting but i noticed that Maddie was consistent in digging faint targets that sounded like ground noise but some of these sounds can end up being non ferrous targets. i knew it would only be a matter of time before gold was found and sure enough it was, we just had to walk over it. Its always exciting to see my customers get the gold. keep at it and that sdc will be yours soon enough. Well done Maddie, i wish you all the very best out in the field.
03.01.2022 Ironstone Hill.
02.01.2022 Had a detecting Workshop this morning with Marian Garden and her friend using the SDC 2300 and GPX 5000. both wanted to know about settings for different ground types and learnt a great deal about how to get the best from their detectors. both did really well in finding small targets including lead and gold. Well done ladies and may the gold be with you.
02.01.2022 Had a detecting workshop today with Jimmy Price using his Minelab SDC and GPZ. Jimmy started out in a spot close to town with the sdc and did really well in digging many small targets including lead, copper and gold. We decided to shift to another spot to run the Gpz and headed over to Harvey Town for a quick look. I was very surprised at the Russian coil Jimmy was running on the GPZ as it was very responsive to smaller targets and without any delay. Well done Jimmy, i think you will hit it big on that 7000 sooner than later mate. keep up the great work and all the best of luck to u out in the field.
01.01.2022 Had a Detecting Workshop this morning with new chums Jake, Jas and Peter using their Minelab Equinox and XTerra. We used them for a short while and it was tricky in the hot ground so i brought out the GPX and Gold Monster for comparison and before long they had both gleaned some gold. Pete was first to glean gold with the GM and considering he had never used the monster before this, he did very well. Next was Jake and Jas on the GPX and they pinged a very large target that t...urned out to be a beautiful specimen. Wow i was soo happy to see this and felt very proud of them all for listening hard to what i had said in the workshop. They said they were very happy that they had swapped detectors because they may not have done so well. i think that in this case, if they had not swapped detectors they would not have found gold at all because of the hot ground and emi . Well done to you all and may the gold be with you out in the field. See more
