24.01.2022 QED CHARGER With the impending release of the PL4, it’s time to talk battery chargers. As you may be aware the ‘standard’ PL4 is fitted with a commercially manufactured battery pack that contains qty 4 lithium (18650) batteries with each cell being 3500mAh.... This pack will obviously take longer to charge using the current charger, however a new charger will be included with each new PL4 that has approximately 1.2+ amps output. This will definitely be of major advantage if you choose the QED variant that includes qty 2 battery packs. I now have these battery chargers for those PL3 owners who wish to charge their PL3 (with or without the external battery extender) some what faster. HOWEVER, you will need to change the current QED fuse with a 2 amp fuse. I will be including qty 2 of these fuses with any order of this battery charger (included in the price). The current QED battery charger cable is still required. They are USB balanced chargers as per the photos below. They are small, light weight, high powered and will be an advantage in your QED kit. I will be listing these on my shop soon with a very competitive price. Cheers Brian

21.01.2022 Our trip to the West 2 years ago, camped out in the bush looking for yellow. Emus in the morning and at dusk just wander through the camp. Fantastic rainbow at the start of the Nullarbor heading west. If not for COVID we would be there now.

21.01.2022 Hi everyone, I am very pleased to announce that I now have my Tour Operator and Activity Provider Licence from Parks Victoria and will be operating as Goldman Detecting Services. This allows me to conduct Gold prospecting tours and training activities in state public land, which includes nominated state parks and state forests.... Once lockdown is over, I will recommence my training days and will be organising Gold tours for those who are interested. Good new all round, Cheers Brian

17.01.2022 As everyone is aware the PL4 has been released and is available for purchase. The PL4 is more collapsible than the PL3, thus will fold down to a smaller size, which is very useful when travelling. It has two power options:... 1) a 15000mAh Power Bank 2) a 4 lithium battery pack Either power option is the same price. It comes standard with a Sadie coil, but this can be swapped out for another Nugget Finder Coil if you wish or any other Nugget Finder coils can be added to the overall package. I also have some 8" round DETECH coils (100% waterproof) if they suit your detecting needs. Call me for further info/options if you are interested. Cheers, Brian

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, The initial batch of 20 QED covers are now being manufactured by an Australian Wide recognised detector accessory manufacturer. They are padded canvas and come in Black only, in keeping with the QED colour scheme.... I will advise when they have been delivered, but I'm thinking about 2 weeks before I receive them. They will appear on my shop in the next day or so. See photos below.

09.01.2022 Here ive hooked up my battery Bank to a USB charger, which is then connected to my QED. This setup enables a significant increase in detecting time when compared with just the standard two lithiums.

08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Have just received stock of the boots that now fit over the bottom of the QED legs. The boots just push on and take all of the bumps, scratches and general wear and tear that the legs themselves are subject to.... Using the boots means that you simply fit new boots when they are worn, alleviating the need to replace the legs themselves. This is of major benefit as it could avoid you stripping the legs' screw mounts (damaging the control box) if done a number of times or you are heavy handed with the screws. For those that do not know me, I have been heavily involved with the QED from soon after its release in December 2016 and work closely with Howard (the QED inventor and manufacturer). I test upcoming upgrades before release, write the QED manual, and provide one-on-one assistance to any QED owner anywhere in Austr...alia via phone or other social media. 04.01.2022 Hi All, I’ve completed 5 training days in the last 2 weeks, with the latest being yesterday at Nerrina, Ballarat. We spent about 7 hours out Bush, with the first 40 minutes going through my whiteboard presentation, followed by the personalisation of the QED with its new owner. Then detecting with whichever coils the trainee has on the day.... We broke for lunch, chats, refreshments etc, then were back at it until knockoff. We had a great day out in our fabulous goldfield. 02.01.2022 Hi everyone, I will be leaving for my WA detecting trip very soon now and will be away for a while. During this time Goldman Detecting Services will be operating as per normal. This means that all detector, accessory and coil sales will be processed and posted without delay.... All correspondence should in the first instance be made to my business email address ([email protected]). This email address will be closely monitored and responded to at all times. As I will be remote for some time, my business mobile number (0414 368 474) may or may not be contactable. If you can’t get through, you can ring or SMS my Satellite phone which I will have with me and I will get back to you ASAP. My Satellite Phone number is 0147 140 290. Some mobile carriers will treat calling the sat phone at normal mobile rates, others will not. Best to check your carrier for ‘calling sat phone rates’. This does mean however that while I am remote, my Facebook/Messenger presence may be limited, but I will put up interesting posts from time to time when I have sufficient service.
