25.01.2022 More artists who are playing Gold Roses - KATE AND HANA Melbourne-based singer-songwriters Kate Alexander and Hana Brenecki met in a recording studio in 2016 while contributing backing vocals to a mutual friend’s album. They started playing shows together, before joining forces for a collaborative album. Don’t You Have Better Things To Do?, released last year, picked up a Music Victoria nomination for Best Country Album of 2019. The pair (described by The Age newspaper as Australian harmonising champions) are also involved in myriad other musical projects, collaborating in indie-rock band Low Waves, as well as playing in Ute Root and The Jinks (Alexander) and Hana and Jessie-Lee’s Bad Habits (Brenecki). @kateloual @hanas_bad_habits Kate Alexander #altcountry #musicfestival #bendigo

22.01.2022 SMOKESTACK LIGHTNING TEXAS BARBECUE - The team behind Flight Bar & Hustler are putting on an authentic Texas barbecue on the bill at Gold Roses. Smokestack Lightning Texas Barbecue is going alt-country for the festival, with Justin , Nick and their crew slinging tasty snacks and barbecue feasts all afternoon and well into the evening. Smokestack’s famed Texas and vegan barbecues - and its mouthwatering tacos - cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. 21.01.2022 Melbourne-based country and honky tonk collective James Ellis and the Jealous Guys formed in 2016, after its leader spent the previous decade playing and writing songs in The Bitter Sweets. The band released their debut album, It Ain’t Texas (But It Ain’t Bad), in 2018. Featuring traditional country instrumentation and arrangements, it was nominated for Best Country Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards that year. The band have played at top international and national festivals, including AmericanaFest, Out On The Weekend, and Dashville Skyline. Bring along your dancing shoes, because these guys are the kings (and queen) of two-stepping! Catch them at Gold Roses #altcountry #bendigo #musicfestival

17.01.2022 Gold Roses Alt-Country Music Festival is proud to have joined forces with Heathcote’s Cornella Brewery to produce a limited-edition XPA that will be exclusively available at Handle Bar on Saturday. Cornella is a microbrewery based at The Shiraz Republic, a family-run vineyard that produces boutique wines and craft beers. Established in 2016, its beers are handcrafted from grain to bottle in a shed adjacent to the winery. The collaboration follows a long tradition of Bendigo-based roots rockers Four Lions teaming up with Cornella Brewery to release special editions of various beers for their album/single launches and other events. Here's cheers! Handle Bar Cornella Brewery

02.01.2022 Today’s band are the hometown heroes Four Lions, who started as a solo studio project for singer-songwriter Shann Lions in December 2014 after he emerged from an eight-year musical hiatus. It developed into a fully fledged band after Lions joined forces with guitarist Keith MacQueen, drummer Gavan Moncrieff and keyboardist Stephen Briggs. Bassist Bradley Bradford joined in early 2019. The Bendigo-based roots-rock outfit released their fourth album Hard Days last year. It was Melbourne’s Herald Sun Album of the Week. Four Lions are heading back into the studio in May to record their fifth album. It will be released later this year, followed by a national tour. See them at Gold Roses in the evening #altcountry #musicfestival #bendigo Photo By @skwestmore
