23.01.2022 Many folks have messaged asking if our peacocks and other birds survived. We are hugely relieved to announce that all are safe. As you can see, Andrew is still busily strutting his peacock stuff, the other 2 are with him and the geese are acting as if nothing out of the ordinary has happened. The avairy birds and the free flying Archangel Pigeons had all been rehomed elsewhere a few weeks before the fires started so were not onsite. In the midst of heartbreak and destruction some very good news.

23.01.2022 Thanks to the Moruya BlazeAid for the invite to the farmers night.

22.01.2022 After the sad passing of Alan Edmunds, a long time friend to the Gold Rush Colony family. For all the extended family and friends please see below. Alan passed after a short battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held for Alan, 2pm 04.07.2020 (his 85th birthday) at Old Mogo Town / The Original gold Rush Colony. We welcome people to share their memories with us, refreshments afterwards. For catering purposes and due to covid-19 it would be appreciated if you would indicate if you will be attending.

22.01.2022 A great overview of devastation, hope and support. Promoting local businesses from an Empty Esky family tour. Thank you Topher Field and all our wonderful supporters and visitors who get out there and holiday in the bushfire affected areas!

18.01.2022 Bittersweet - After months of some of the quietest times the Gold Rush Colony has ever seen, today we are a hive of activity.... Let the clean up begin

16.01.2022 The collapsed mine tunnel is now creating it's own living environment, but will always have it's hidden treasures and history.

11.01.2022 A couple if still shots from drone footage taken in February 1 month after fires. First of accommodation and second the historical Gold Rush village

10.01.2022 Corey caught up with Malcolm and Peter from the Eurobodalla woodies today( social distance). Thank you for the lovely gifts and letter. The Gold Rush Colony is missing all our community groups and staff. And thank you for your kind words of being with us the last 10 years.

10.01.2022 Very sadly, we wish to advise the Gold Rush Colony 1850s historical theme park has been lost in the NSW South Coast bushfires that swept through Mogo on Tuesday 31 Dec 2019. Management will contact customers affected by this disaster to discuss refund arrangements for future bookings. Ability to do this is hampered by lack of basic services which may take weeks to restore; power, internet, communications. A contact phone number will be posted as soon as one can be arranged.... Please be patient as the region is still under extreme threat and the trauma to the Colonys Management, staff and community is great. Staff members have lost not only their jobs but, for some, their homes and possessions as well. https://www.goldrushcolony.com.au/

09.01.2022 13 days after The Gold Rush Colony was taken by fire along with so many others in the Eurobodalla, our staff got to take a look. We finally got to contact everyone to get together ( missing a couple ) but with limited telephone, internet, power and road closures this was hard. We have over 20 people now without work and sadly 2 tour guides also lost their homes. BUT today we came together and shed alot of tears , laughed out loud and actually all just had time to say NOTHING and be alone... Big love out there to our/ my staff I am here if you need me. Love George and Maureen xxx
