24.01.2022 For those students that we have booked tests for, we will be taking care of your test rescheduling ASAP and will be in contact with you soon!

22.01.2022 Can anyone tell us the difference between the broken line and no line at all???

18.01.2022 Department of transport has stated they will refund all fees. When the funds are in our account, we shall refund each relevant party their fee. We ask that any student that has a booking with us, to contact us in about 7 weeks time (approx. 15th May) to re-establish a test booking time. We will be prioritising booking in their current order that they are in at the moment. We apologise for the inconvinience that this may cause, but this circumstance is out of our control. Wit...h any preceeding lessons booked in advanced of the current test day, we will contact you for appointment times closer to the new driving test date. We will be accepting new student appointments in the coming weeks, subject to government restrictions. UPDATE Due to COVID-19, the Department of Transport and Main Roads has decided to cancel all practical driving tests for three months (subject to review), in the interests of health and safety for the community. This change in service delivery is due to the high-risk nature of this activity when considering COVID-19 and the guidelines for social distancing and hygiene practices as recommended by Queensland Health. Customers who have scheduled practical driving tests will be notified that their test has been cancelled and will be advised of options for a refund. No new bookings will be accepted during this period and no exemptions will be granted. When practical driving tests become available in the future, customers who had their test cancelled will be sent information to help them rebook a test. We understand the impact that the cancellation of practical driving tests will have on the community and industry and this is not a decision taken lightly. Our number one priority is the safety of our staff and customers. We apologise for any inconvenience as Queensland responds to this unprecedented pandemic event. If you have any questions about these changes, please visit www.tmr.qld.gov.au

16.01.2022 I am very Proud of this young Lady. I have had the privilege of helping her obtain her 'P's in 2018 in auto. We have recently been doing lessons in manual with the goal of obtaining her HR licence. Text book driving. Great visual technique and steering control and great work on the gears. I'm like a proud father... Very proud, Erin!

15.01.2022 You can enrol in PrepL if you are at least 15 years and 11 months old. This will give you time to work through PrepL, so that you will be eligible to get your learner licence on your 16th birthday.

14.01.2022 The latest news from Queensland Transport .... hopefully car testing will not be far behind. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT AND MAIN ROADS From 25 May 2020, TMR will resume heavy vehicle practical driving tests in several locations across Queensland. Heavy vehicle testing has been prioritised to support the transport industry and to keep Queensland moving. ... Heavy vehicle tests will be prioritised for: customers who previously had a test booked which was cancelled when the suspension was announced emergency service drivers customers who require a heavy vehicle licence for employment purposes (including seasonal agricultural heavy vehicle drivers) customers with exceptional circumstances. As health and safety remains a priority, several measures (including mandatory customer screening and vehicle cleaning) will be introduced to protect applicants and examiners. Driving schools or driver trainers looking to request priority bookings on behalf of customers who meet the above criteria should email [email protected] or call 13 23 80 and when prompted say ‘driving test’. Test bookings can be made from Tuesday 19 May 2020. At this stage, we will not be accepting bulk bookings for heavy vehicle practical driving tests. This includes all bulk bookings issued prior to the cancellation of driver assessments. Applicants who wish to be given a priority test for employment reasons must provide confirmation from their employer, such as an email confirming the applicant’s role requires operation of a heavy vehicle. TMR will contact all customers who previously had a test cancelled with details about rebooking a new test, when bookings are available. To confirm eligibility or book a priority test, all other customers are directed to email [email protected]. Customers who do not qualify for a priority driving test should continue to check for updates at www.qld.gov.au/transport/licensing/getting/tests. This page will also be updated with announcements about the recommencement of driving tests for light vehicles. For more information about these changes, including details of heavy vehicle test locations, visit www.qld.gov.au/trans/covid-19-transport/heavy-vehicle-tests. We will continue to keep you updated on changes to our service delivery.

13.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING THE HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST (as per the Queensland Transport statement - Introduction of the updated car hazard perception test (HPT)).... Queensland’s hazard perception test (HPT) is changing to improve road safety. Novice drivers and riders are overrepresented in crash statistics. This is due, in part, to less developed hazard perception skills. Novices who do not respond appropriately to hazards under testing conditions may not respond appro...priately to real on-road hazards and therefore may have a higher risk of crashing. The benefits of hazard perception tests are best realised before the novice progresses to unsupervised driving or riding. For these reasons, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is relocating and modernising its car hazard perception test and introducing a new test specifically for motorcycle riders. Currently, the car HPT must be completed to progress from a P1 to a P2 driver licence. It will move to an earlier phase in Queensland’s graduated licensing system (GLS). The HPT will now become part of the requirements to upgrade from a learner licence to a P1 licence. The test will also change to incorporate new computer-generated images and embrace a more modern look. TMR has been involved in the national project to modernise the HPT. The project was led by Austroads and has culminated in the development of new clips which portray the manoeuvres and hazards that have been identified as problematic for novice drivers. These changes will commence in Queensland on 29 March 2021.

13.01.2022 A General TMR update... (But yet to be confirmed for the Gympie area) Car practical driving tests Resuming of tests From Monday 15 June driving tests will resume for people who meet the priority booking criteria, in line with updated health and safety advice.... All practical driving tests were suspended from 28 March, to limit the spread of COVID-19 and comply with social distancing recommendations from Queensland Health. If you previously had a test cancelled, we’ll contact you with details about rebooking your test. Prioritising and managing tests From 15 June when car tests are available, we will prioritise bookings for people who meet the following criteria: 1. had tests cancelled due to COVID-19 2. require a licence for employment purposes 3. require a licence to access medical treatment for themselves or a member of their family 4. require a licence to get to or from their educational institution. Confirm your eligibility for a priority test To confirm your eligibility for a priority test as you meet one of the criteria previously detailed, You then need to complete the application for prioritised test booking form (F5295) and email it to [email protected]. Booking a test online The online service for booking, rescheduling, updating and swapping vehicle test bookings won’t be available during this initial period. To reschedule or cancel a booked test during this period, email [email protected] with your booking details and include: the booking name driver licence number date time and location of your confirmed booking a contact phone number. Please note, bookings can’t be swapped during this period. Health and safety for you and examiners As health and safety remains the priority, several measures will be put in place to protect you and driving examiners, including: 1. mandatory screening for test participants 2. vehicle cleaning requirements 3. reinforcement of general health and hygiene measures. You must read and comply with the health and safety requirements for your driving test.

07.01.2022 We have been getting a lot of questions about if it is ok to travel (learner driving). This is the government advice so we could assume combining this approved travel with your learning (with a family member), you should be able to continue to accumulate your hours.
