21.01.2022 Kai course at Kannapali Maui takes you up the hill over the cane tracks for great views to Molokai and the blue sea. Could be in Cairns, the course is also used for foot golf about 140 meters out from a separate flag and hole, popular with young players, one way to keep the course financially viable .Paradise Palms golf course could have done this.

05.01.2022 Important Local News An appeal has been lodged in Court to overturn the Cairns City Council decision to approve a rezoning and Development Application of the property known as Paradise Palms WHY APPEAL? The decision goes against Council’s own Town Plan and Vision for Cairns 2050. We need to save the land currently zoned as Sports and Recreation for future generations of Cairns. Once it’s gone ITS GONE!... THE FACTS 33% of the site the developer has said he will donate is UNUSEABLE anyway. It is heavily treed & includes all the creeks and waterway zones on the property. The developer is NOT GIVING ANYTHING AWAY. The area is also heavily constrained by State Government environmental laws. The remaining land, if developed as per the development plan, will bring heavily increased traffic congestion There has been insufficient evidence presented on the impacts of increased water runoff, sewerage, drainage and flooding. Any future incidents would be a cost to the local communities. Wildlife corridor and environmental concerns are not fully considered. This approval STOPS any further community consultation as the developer has been granted Code Assessable rights within the various precincts of the approval. HUSH and RUSH! After 5 alterations to the DA, there were only 2 days to view the final application before it was voted on at Council. No time for community consultation or transparency. The value of the existing green space to the community is immeasurable. Over 1000 residences are directly affected and THOUSANDS more will be negatively impacted from this development.
