02.01.2022 Greg Norman Junior Masters 2020 Update The GNJM was held last week in some of the worst conditions imaginable for golf. Conditions became that bad that rounds 1 and 4 were abandoned. This is the first time it has happened since its commencement. Our district was well represented by 13yrs Boys - Elio DiBella, Levi Holmes, Dallas Douglas & Addison Neaves... 15yrs Boys Finn Couper, Kaylem Douthwaite and Beau Lavery 15yrs Girls Jade Escriva 17yrs Boys Tim Herman, Sam Harrison and Kyle Dowde Although not all players made the proposed cut it was great to see most improved on their first round scores. I was impressed on how our players conducted themselves and their were several comments made about our shirts and how well the kids looked. I would like to thank the committee for providing these. In the shorten event (36 holes) Elio DiBella was the nett winner on a countback and Kyle Dowde was the winner of the State Final District Points Challenge. 02.01.2022 Sometimes it seems easier to keep up appearances and society has in a way conditioned this always be strong, happy mentality but slowly we are breaking down the stigmas around mental health and expressing feelings - it's ok to speak up and say actually no I'm not really ok...and the more we talk to trusted friends and family the more we become to see we are never alone and the more natural and normal it will become to show our more vulnerable selves. No matter how busy we seem, take the time to ask R U OK or just be there to listen.
