23.01.2022 Our description doesn't state it but we also cater for Youth.. earlier this year we were putting together a 12-14 boy and 12-14 girls teams for rep. Plus looking for more opportunity in the region for our teams to be a part of galas and competitions across the New England Area.. And before Covid opportunity to get a free coaching certificate. We do not have a clubhouse, we do not have equipment, we do have people in the community who want to be a part of Gomeroi Maliyan-Go teams and volunteer staff. We are very much community driven.. to empower, connect and encourage!

12.01.2022 The team at JMF Dubbo Community Hub had a fantastic session last week at Buninyong Public School - NSW DoE teaching students how to play Buroinjin. An Indigenous game, Buroinjin is traditionally played with a kangaroo skin filled with feathers and is a cross between soccer and netball.
10.01.2022 Its here Last year I had was given the opportunity to cater for an Indigenous Representative Soccer Team (Gomeroi Maliyan-Go) from Tamworth who travelled to ...Nowra to compete with other teams across NSW. Here I met the amazing founder and manager of this Indigenous side, Kaliela Thornton Since then Kaliela has spent her own time putting together this amazing aboriginal artwork on one of my platter boards hand crafted from TIMBA Decor. Today I received my finished product and I am absolutely delighted and thrilled to have such a meaningful piece to be displayed on my wall. The gorgeous fairy wrens and the hardenbergia violacea are stories of the night sky observations and the silhouette of home to many of us The Warrumbungles! Kaliela also holds dance classes, workshops, and art classes! You will find her page Maaya-li Dhawun Creations - Aboriginal Artist (whispers from the country) on facebook and instagram. Once again I appreciate this more then ever, and will be forever thankful to meet such an amazing and inspiring aboriginal lady with mountains of talent and belief

02.01.2022 The modern player requires a different coaching and mentoring skillset from the modern coach. Each day until the end of this year, we will cover some of the obs...ervations that we have made working with young boys and girls in an educational/soccer environment. MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS For as long as the game has been played, coaches have faced the challenge of being effective communicators to players. The modern player is now receiving communication and information from a variety of sources in a vast variety of formats. Some want it in text format, others prefer video, whilst some prefer face to face and in person. Yelling, screaming and creating a sense of fear are proven to be the least effective ways to communicate. Studies and science have showed us that a coach can say the same words to a group of people, but the message and interpretation can be different for each individual. This can also be seen in even more contrasting light by the most effective way to speak to female players as opposed to male players. Without generalising, we have found through research but even more importantly, from asking our players directly, that when providing feedback and advice to girls that they prefer it away from the group because by and large, girls need to bond before they can play together and feedback in front of the group can create a heightened sense of self-consciousness. Boys on the other hand need to compete first to bond. Think back to your childhood when a boy has a physical fight with another boy. Often they will end up becoming friends after the scuffle. All of this goes back to our overriding belief that the person must come before the footballer. It is impossible for you to maximise your coaching ability and knowledge if you first don't create a strong relationship with your players and staff. This bond and connection will allow you to teach and coach them without fear and without obstruction, and in turn, the engagement of the modern player will strengthen. Once they connect with you, their work-rate goes through the roof every session but more importantly, you will start to influence their lifestyle, their values and their future. Nothing can be more powerful than that in shaping the future of our sport and the world. See more
