18.01.2022 Check out this caterpillar. Once it's finished munching on our Lemon Tree leaves, it will form a chrysalis where it will eventually emerge as a Dainty Swallowtail (Papilio anactus) butterfly. Found throughout the Mt Lofty Ranges and the East coast of Australia. This caterpillar (lavae) feed on citrus, native or not. The butterfly is attracted by the citrus but also other local natives such as Pelargonium australe, Malva preissiana, Cullen australasicum, etc. Fun fact: Moths emerge from cocoons, butterflies from a chrysalis

05.01.2022 He's still hanging around This Eastern Water Skink has been calling our backyard home for over 6 years (well, that's when we first spotted it)!! Isn't he magnificent! Sometimes he looks through our back windows, others he's sunning himself on the rock steps. Today I caught him moving from one water bowl area of our garden to another. It's easy to attract wildlife like this guy to your garden, with the use and placement of the right plants and habitat elements such as water, rock, pebbles, logs, etc. Protection from predators is also a must!! If you are attracting wildlife, you need to ensure they don't end up lunch for yours or your neighbours pets
