25.01.2022 Year 6 - Doing things differently together. While ‘Plan A’, the Sydney Canberra Trip wasn’t to be, our 6s can look forward to a combination of unique experiences for GSLC students. This week they are going on an Everglades Adventure and participating in a mock parliamentary process. Early next term they’ll be going to Fraser Island for three days. One of the Year 6 classrooms has been transformed into GSLC’s ‘House of Representatives’ Full marks to Mr Blanch for resourcefulness in locating some House of Reps green!

24.01.2022 Water Polo @ GSLC - Congratulations to our Open Boys Firsts Water Polo on their courageous effort against Matthew Flinders in the Grand Final. Unfortunately a narrow loss going down 8-7 in the last 10 seconds of the game. With most of the team able to return for 2021 (and beyond) there’s a bright future for Water Polo @ GSLC!

24.01.2022 The wonderful world of writing - This morning the Prep Kookaburras began writing the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. Their little hands have been furiously writing ever since. 5 pages in and Kira isn’t ready to put the pencil down just yet!

23.01.2022 GSLC @ Googa - Then & Now Prior to the overnight solo, students do a short reflective bush walk in preparation, called the ‘Pockets’. The ‘Pockets’ involves a wander through the dense vine-scrub, that surrounds Googa, while listening to the birdlife and experiencing the quietness of the bush. Students then gather under a fig where they complete a journaling activity. What makes the ‘Pockets’ significant is that this walking track was made by this GSLC cohort 3 years ago when they camped here in Year 7. Since the ‘Pockets’ was made, it has been a key part of solo preparation for the senior students who visit Googa.

Our presenter was very impressed with the students’ deep thinking questions during the Q&A session.
