01.01.2022 #REPOST from our Good Bean Milton store owner, @elyk_22: "Sometimes I think back to a time when I was still in school, working my after hours hospitality job as I did most afternoons. One momentous afternoon, I served my English teacher. I remember so distintly her placing her order before she turned back & asked why I was wasting my time working this venue for mimimun wage when I had "so much potential to aspire elsewhere" She said I could take my education so much further ...if I spent the extra time studying. I remember making her coffee that day & watching her take a seat to enjoy the beverage I had made with so much care, while she socialised with her friends after a long day in the office marking some assignments. I already knew where my passion was to lead & I thought to myself if no one really cared for the hospitality industry as I did or had studied the humble coffee bean, she would have no place to enjoy that afternoon pick me up which she enjoyed so much. I never doubted the career I wanted to embark on, although so many people around me at the time didn't believe there was anything to it. What I learnt that day was entratenership meant living a few years of your life the way most people won't, so you can spend the rest of your life the way most people can't. 1.5 years ago I opened my own specialty coffee establishment & although 2020 has had its challenges we have accomplished SO much this year towards a very vibrant future & I am so happy to stand here & share this with you.
