25.01.2022 If you saw a strange black cat, would you get out of it's way? Here's some other superstitions, which do you believe? Stroking a black cat's tail will cure a sty in your eye ... If a cat scratches behind his ear, it's going to rain ... When a cat runs around manically, it's going to be windy ... When a cat sits with its back to a fire, a storm or frost is imminent ... Dreaming of a white cat brings good luck ... If kittens are born in May, you'll get snakes in the house ... Cats in coal mines are bad luck ... If you hear a cat sneeze, you'll have good luck ... It’s good luck to desex, microchip, and register* your cat. You bet, it’s the law . #cats #friday13th *Not all councils charge registration fees, but you still need to register by its microchip in Dogs and Cats Online
23.01.2022 Here’s four tips to keep cats safe this Halloween. 1/ No treatsmost are poisonous to cats, especially chocolate. 2/ No candlescats can easily knock them over so never leave a lit candle unattended. 3/ No costumesmost animals don’t like it so don’t dress your cat unless you know it won’t stress them (watch for signs of fear, distress or pain). 4/ Microchipmake sure your cat is microchipped and have their collars on securely in case they get spooked and escape. [This image has been manipulated no cat or dog was harmed in the process. You can still have fun this Halloween whilst keeping puddy safe]. #cats #halloween
22.01.2022 Are you confident you know the laws for your beloved feline friend? Maybe it’s time to check them out to see if you really know what you think you know. It’s all in our ‘Your cat and the law’ pamphlet here > https://bit.ly/2UXw2zr #cats #law
22.01.2022 Cats love to hide in their own space to escape and zone out. Some cats have all the ‘mod cons’ like a scratching tower with a cubby hiding spot up high, or igloos. But it doesn’t need to be fancy, a cardboard box with a soft lining like a blanket will do. Be creative, or your cat just might be. #cats #safe #play
16.01.2022 Stray visiting? You could ask your council, shelter or vet to check it for a microchip. It could be someone’s lost pet, and they can find its microchip in Dogs and Cats Online to reunite it with its owner. If not, it can be desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and you can take it on as a pet. Cats are great company, and when kept indoors or within your property, they shouldn’t affect the local wildlife. If you give a stray cat a happy home, it will love you for life. 14.01.2022 Please supervise young children around cats and teach your child to always wash their hands after touching them. Often children don’t know how fragile kittens are and can accidentally injure them or be scratched by their sharp claws. Children enjoy learning how to handle cats so they feel safe and relaxed. Will you be their teacher? #cats #children
12.01.2022 Do you exercise your cat? We hear plenty about the importance of walking the dog or making sure your dog gets plenty of exercise. But what about cats? Well if you have two cats, they’ll wrestle and chase one another. A cat tower will see them stretch and climb. Cats get exercise when they play with toys (ping pong balls on strings work a treat). Laser toys make them jump and run (be careful to avoid their eyes). How does your cat like to exercise? #cats #exercise

05.01.2022 Your cat loves your company so make sure you have time to spend with him or her every day. Whether that's playing or grooming you’ll find it’s time well spent. Cats are great companions, friends and confidants. So tell us, how does your cat like to play?
04.01.2022 Spending time with your cat can lower your blood pressure and stress hormones linked to depression and anxiety. It can also elevate the good ones like oxytocin to make you feel happy and relaxed. So if your feeling a little unsettled or anxious, go sit with your cats and give them a big cuddle. They won’t object and they’ll gladly lend you their ear so you can them all your worries or secrets with out any judgement. Reciprocal therapy win win!
03.01.2022 Grass seeds can cause havoc for your cat and they’re abundant right now. Seeds are so fine, they can be blown in on the wind or come in on shoes and bags. Check your cat’s coat, ears and paws. The sharp ends of seeds can pierce your cat’s skin and burrow into the flesh. In severe cases where left undetected, they can travel deep into the body. Seeds can also be found trapped between the tooth and gumline, so check there too. #cats #wellbeing
