23.01.2022 - Yesterday we did a private lesson with Daisy’s owner, developing value for the crate and introducing some boundaries to enhance her understanding Crate training is about teaching your dog to be calm and relaxed inside a crate (think of it like a bedroom) it’s helpful for lots of things:... Ensures your dog is capable of being confined without stress (like at the vet, groomers, kennel or during air travel) Allows you to have a transportable containment system with your dog when travelling, visiting family or camping Provides a safe place for your dog to retreat to when overwhelmed or scared (like during a storm) Allows for easy management of your dog when tradesman are in your home, prevents mistakes like a forgotten open gate in this time becoming a bigger issue Assists with building independence Assists with house training for puppies Daisy has had a bit of a harder time adjusting to the crate, but her owner is dedicated to the process and Daisy is picking it up quickly!

09.01.2022 We couldn’t have been more excited to see our Fundamental classes graduate this past weekend We have to give a special shout-out to and her dog for the massive improvement we saw over the length of the course Saske initially struggled with all the dogs around her, she had a hard time controlling her arousal levels even with distance and wasn’t sure how best to navigate the situation... Her uncertainty led to some reactive behaviour in the first few weeks of class but we have seen steady improvement each week. It was awesome to see this team in their final week participating in all the exercises and smashing goals! Saske’s littermate was also in this class (Charlie, in the foreground) and both handlers have worked extremely hard with their dogs to not only develop their obedience but work on their dogs ability to be apart and find value in their owners. This can be tricky with littermates and often requires extra dedication. This is what it’s all about!
