15.01.2022 Last month, Goodie pitched at the Monash Accelerator Startup Showcase 2019. Our Co-Founder Will Zhong spoke in front of hundreds of people who were excited to hear about Goodie’s journey and the other teams’ pitches. We can definitely say that when we were initially selected to be part of the 12-week program, we couldn’t have imagined the support and feedback we would receive from the mentors, cohort and extended team and the Showcase Night was an amazing way to finish the ...program on a high. Goodie is excited to see what the future holds for us, there are some incredible things happening behind the scenes so stay tuned for what’s to come! #goodie #volunteering The Generator

15.01.2022 We've all got that one friend that's a bit TOO keen... For the rest of us, ditch the cars, it's WALK TO WORK DAY! #walktowork

14.01.2022 Hi Goodie family, We hope that every one of you has been keeping safe and healthy. During these testing times, it’s important to look after one another whether they’re loved ones or strangers who may be in need. With the ever-changing situation of COVID-19/Coronavirus, we have made the decision to currently pause all planned volunteering opportunities and any volunteering events for the foreseeable future. ... We have been in close contact with our charity partners, volunteers, universities and other departments and when looking at the advice given by the Australian Government, health officials and key figures, we feel that it is part of our duty of care to make this decision. We know that a lot of you will be feeling quite helpless at this time, as volunteers we feel the need to help out wherever and whenever we can. The best thing we can do for now though is to help stop the spread and flatten the curve by avoiding any non-essential travel, outings and gatherings. It may seem like a silly thing to do without physically feeling sick, but the more we can physically distance ourselves from each other, the quicker this will hopefully pass over. Goodie is also looking at ways that we can safely provide help with the current situation we'll keep you updated once we know more. At the same time, this doesn’t mean that we have to stop helping others. Think about the elderly person shopping for groceries the next time you need a loaf of bread. Think about the person living on the street who can’t buy a meal since the local café is closed. Think about the healthcare industry who are working around the clock to combat this virus and help those who are suffering. Can you help that elderly person buy their groceries? Can you cook a warm meal for the homeless person? Can you buy a coffee for a nurse or doctor who needs it? If it’s safe to do so, as volunteers there is still so much we can do while practicing social distancing. Social distancing doesn’t mean being locked away from everyone it's equally important to keep in touch and stay connected with the world. Call your family, text your mates, and talk with one another. In due time we will all come out of this and things will start to get back to normal, but for now it is on us to do our bit to help "flatten the curve". If you have any questions at all, please send us an inbox :) Stay safe and look after each other.

10.01.2022 More than the recent election debates Richard Dent, CEO of Leadership Victoria puts out a biting response to Catherine Walsh's The Age article 'Volunteering doesn't make the world a better place'. Dent comments, "she gave sausage-sizzle examples and trots out the old saw that volunteering undercuts paid work."... Who's side are you on?
