12.01.2022 One of the last commercially successful computers to use vacuum tubes rather than transistors used several thousand tubes, many of which were in grouped assemblies. If my own computer were to use the same vacuum tube/valve technology, the 37.5 x 37.5 mm CPU would grow to around 7 square kilometres. Just a question from a customer that piqued my curiosity...

10.01.2022 The second month of the year, the second little (little for me, at least) tragedy... I’m sorry, it looks like your hard drive has failed, we’ll need to replace it and restore all your stuff from a backup.. A what? I don’t think we have one.. Years of emails, letters, family photos and personal notes, studies and research information gone, or possibly recoverable by a professional service, at a huge cost, paid in advance, without a guarantee. Portable hard drives are now c...ommon and inexpensive; Windows has built-in backup capability, but more efficient and extremely clever, flexible and effective software, aimed at business and corporate clients is available free for personal and home use. If you rely on your computer and need a backup, give me a call for a free appraisal and a quote to set-up a reliable, automatic backup process. An online service, no fuss and a result that can be demonstrated for you. Contact Rob on 0415 297 132, (02) 4701 4645 or via reply to this advertisement. Friendly, professional service, online, anywhere. Decades of experience making computers safe and secure.

06.01.2022 Time for our Spring Clean Special again. An online service to keep your computer happy and working at its best. Phone, message or email for a booking.

03.01.2022 What better time than Spring for a Spring clean? With an online process we can: i. Remove obsolete and unnecessary files. ii. Perform a fast scan for common Internet browser spy, tracking and redirection software. This process also provides an indication of more problematic viruses and malicious programs. The presence of any other potentially unwanted items will be advised and addressed as agreed. iii. Check system logs for recurring errors that may indicate an impending prob...lem. iv. Check system update and antivirus/security status. v. Provide a system inventory and audit report. vi. Provide a brief report on the overall state of the computer. vii. On request, provide a report on any upgrades, features or programs that may be required. (It’s always a good day for a backup!). Please contact us via Facebook, our web site or by 'phone to book an annual check-up, or for any other requirements, questions or problems with your computer.
