25.01.2022 Relationship counselling Works: Arguments and disagreements occur within all close relationships, and are a normal part of dealing with differences. But chronic relationship conflict and stress can be linked to poorer mental, physical, emotional, social and occupational health. Children also suffer when exposed to high levels of conflict at home, and are at greater risk for health problems. Effective and respectful ways to communicate differences are important to fulfilling r...elationship A number of things can cause relationship problems. Baggage (the past) - Family dynamics and upbringing play a part in future relationships. Early exposure to conflict can increase the likelihood of conflicted relationships. Life transitions and stress Even positives changes like moving, being married, having a baby, children leaving home, and retirement can strain a relationship, and diminish ‘connection’. When people are stressed, it can be difficult to forgive or be positive with others, reducing relationship satisfaction. Effective communication skills are important to relationships. Unhelpful criticism or blame, can give way to open and respectful interactions. Safely sharing concerns and emotions can improve relationships. Problem-solving steps include clearly defining the problem together, brainstorming solutions, negotiating solutions to try, and reviewing whether the problem is resolved or needs further work. Focusing on the positives in your relationship can increase satisfaction and encourage better relations. For example, thinking about what attracted you to your partner in the first place, or what your partner appreciates, and deliberately do those things more frequently, can make things more positive. 21.01.2022 Real Men: Being a man is about facing your fear and respecting it, not-being a gung-ho, self-centred and reckless fool. "Men's Groups" is a phrase that conjures up stereotyped images! One extreme is the wild, drum beating, loin-cloth wearing, forest dwelling, Masculinist, essentialist, group. Another is the reluctant or apologist, under duress, Feminist, gender re-education, "men need to take more responsibility and less entitlement", institutional, kind of group. At Goodluck... Consultancies we are for Men being Men, and Men and Women respecting and celebrating one another in all our diversity; And part of that is to encourage men to join together safely to explore what's important, in a tolerant and non-judgemental setting. We believe that all persons have good in them and, given the right set of opportunities, we can all be truly magnificent. If you want to get in-touch with your wild man and beat a drum and go bush then that could be arranged (loin-cloth optional). If you want to discuss changing gender roles and expectations and how to be a real man loving and supporting those you care about, liberating your self and others from self obsessed woundedness, that's possible. If you want to do both wild-man and nurturing-man work concurrently, lets do it! We believe in celebrating Men and Women for all the good things we can bring to one-another and the communities and children we are responsible for and accountable to. We believe in the value of men having space to ask together, "What is important to us as men? And how do we make it happen? Perhaps Nurturing-Wild-Men is what the world needs now. Peaceful Warriors, rebuilding a world gone mad with selfishness, greed, anger and illusions. Are you seeking to live to your true potential as a guardian of the common good? What do you think/feel/know/believe/want? To Register your interest in Men's Groups, phone Gregory Goodluck on 08 8981 0064 or email [email protected]

13.01.2022 Arguments and disagreements occur within all close relationships, and are a normal part of dealing with differences in ideas, beliefs, and perspectives. However chronic relationship conflict and stress is a serious issue. It has been linked to poorer mental and physical health and can affect other areas of life such as relationships with family and friends, and work. Children also suffer when exposed to high levels of conflict at home, and are at greater risk for anxiety, depression, behavioural problems, and poorer health. Learning effective and respectful ways to communicate differences is an important step in building a healthy, fulfilling relationship, and which can benefit our overall wellbeing and those around us.

01.01.2022 Guidelines not an 'attack' on men Some of the negative responses to the guidelines, including that they conflate traditional masculinity with "being a pig, or a creep or a Harvey Weinstein kind of person", misunderstand what they're about, Associate Professor Flood said. "This is not an attack of men. It's an attack on one particular set of ideals about how to be a man a set of ideals which are actually pretty harmful to men themselves," he said.... "What's been criticised is a particular version of masculinity, based on sexism, rigid homophobia, and narrow emotional stoicism." If you or anyone you know needs help: Lifeline on 13 11 14 MensLine Australia on 1300 789 978 Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467 Zac Seidler, a psychologist who specialises in the treatment of boys and men, said the idea that traditional masculinity is "fundamentally dangerous" was not the case, and not what the guidelines were suggesting. https://www.abc.net.au//mens-mental-health-mascu/10768294
