23.01.2022 Something tells me a lot of people have heard about the new building/renovation grant that is being offered by the government.... Cause we are busy guys! We cannot believe the volume of files currently coming through our doors and this grant definitely has something to do with it. So what’s the catch?! ... Like every handout from the government, there are terms and conditions and we are having a lot of conversations with people who are relying on this grant to complete a build. So we wanted to point out a couple of things: you cannot use this grant as your deposit you must sign a building contract before 31st December 2020 your builder must begin work within 3 months of signing that contract you do not get this money to go towards the purchase of land, it is for your build you need to be an Australian citizen to be eligible your wage effects your eligibility you need a title in your name to be able to begin building So for anyone looking into buying land in the hope to build and take advantage of this grant we cannot stress enough to do your homework first! Our main conversations have been with clients that are buying ‘subject to a plan of subdivision’ - which means you have absolutely no guarantee of when you will be able to settle, so if it pushes into next year, the grant is gone and you are required to continue until settlement. This is not a jumper. This is undies. There’s no refund with receipt. #knowledgeisagoodmove #undies

22.01.2022 Take a deep breath - this last couple of months have been something else. Be kind. #beingkindisagoodmove

22.01.2022 It was one tradition I simply had to continue. We know how much the Real Estate Agents and their teams love the annual ham and cheese croissant hampers. We hope you enjoy & Merry Christmas

21.01.2022 This week we said goodbye to our admin guru Taylah. If we’re being honest though, she’s been slipping a bit lately......becoming forgetful, tired and simply struggling to get sentences out. But we’ll forgive her because growing a human will do that to you. We are so excited for Taylah to take on this next stage of life, you are going to be the most amazing mum. And while we are going to miss her infectious laugh, love of a good sch-nack and stories about when things get wi...ld; we cannot wait to meet baby Williams. Bring on our newest family member! #babiesareagoodmove #babywilliams

21.01.2022 And that’s a wrap. Today I walked out of the Good Move office for the last time as a boss or employee. But I am far from sad. ... The last four and a half years have taught me so much. I have learnt to respect people’s opinions even if I don’t agree with them, I have learnt that I will never make everyone happy, I have learnt that you have to back your choices even if that means you’re the bitch, but most importantly I’ve learnt that if you surround yourself with great people; success will come. I am so proud of my business today, in the last four years it has changed and grown and opened up to include some pretty awesome people. One of whom has stepped up and couldn’t be more suited to stepping into my shoes. This business has been a part of my life since I was 5 - it has paid for my schooling, the roof over my head and put food on the table and then has done that for my children too. It is a truly wonderful thing and why it is so important to support local small businesses. So please. Support local. Support small business. Support Abby and the GM girls - you will not be disappointed. And now for me. I’m home.

16.01.2022 You know when we get treats like this from a Selling Agent that a whole lot of work is about to come our way Stage 4 of Banksia Ridge in Traralgon is currently waiting on titles to be registered, but apparently no one cares about that because all blocks are sold! A big congratulations to the team at Stockdale & Leggo Latrobe Valley and thanks to George for softening the blow with treats from Dark Queen cheesecakes. ... So nice to know the property market in Gippsland has stayed strong during covid-19. Off we go to prepare 19 contracts.......So, when is Stage 5 being released?! #briberyisagoodmove #darkqueencheesecakesforthewin

16.01.2022 Family. It’s something I talk a lot about, within my business as well as outside of it. I don’t think it would come as a surprise to anyone that my family is the single most important thing in my life. So after a lot of thought and discussion my husband and I decided that it was best to move on from our business. This wasn’t an easy decision but when we looked at it logically, there was no way we could have supported our boys the way we needed to while also supporting our s...taff and our clients. We are so incredibly happy with our decision and any sadness we feel has been completely overpowered with joy because of who will be stepping up to the plate. From the 1st October our amazing Office Manager Abby will be taking the lead and to say we are happy is a big bloody understatement. If you work closely with us you would know Abby has taken on a lot more responsibility this year and it is for good reason - this has been a long time coming (thanks covid!) and she is ready to take this business, our staff and our clients to the next level. There is honestly no one better for the job. So I would like to say a big thanks to all our colleagues and clients past and present, I have appreciated every piece of advice, all the laughs and the lessons. My staff - you have very quickly become my family and my main reason for continuing on some days. You are all fabulous!! My husband - every hug, every piece of advice and all of your support has never gone unnoticed. I literally wouldn’t have what I do without you. I am very proud of what I have achieved in the past four years, I have always been true to myself and my beliefs and it feels great. But what feels even better is knowing that the best person is about to step in to my shoes. So now it is time to hold my boys tight and to appreciate every moment I have with them, because nothing is more important.

15.01.2022 May I introduce you to the Lounge Mullet. Where it’s business in the front and party in the back! Three weeks ago I had to rearrange my lounge room so I could work from home. It has now undergone an upgrade to include a classroom for my two boys. ... To all the parents like us that start remote learning on Wednesday - good luck and remember that all our kids are different so as long as you make it work as best you can for your kids then they will be fine. My main focus is to try and stick to a routine because I know that works best for my boys - I will also be using the iPad as an incentive because they bloody love those things I hope you all had an awesome Easter with your loved ones - let’s begin week four of home isolation. #stayinghomeisagoodmove #remotelearning #workingfromhome #mumwillbehavingwineatlunchtime

14.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...... We have officially started the countdown to Christmas and the silly season is definitely upon us. 10.01.2022 Following the Prime Ministers speech tonight to say I’m confused is a big understatement. Only 5 people at weddings but kids and teachers are safe to go to school. We must stay home and practise social distancing but retail shops remain open. Beauticians are closed but hairdressers remain open - for 30 minute appointments. ... I am scrolling through my feed seeing so many friends closing their doors, not knowing when they will open again and it breaks my heart. Our business is still operating but will obviously be effected as our agent friends cannot hold open days but only private inspections. Which makes it hard for our industry. To all our current clients we are working hard to keep transactions running as normal as possible, while still following the rules imposed by the government. And we will of course keep you updated. But in the midst of all this I hope we can all remain patient, kind and helpful. Share job ads, positive stories and kids having a laugh - get some fresh air and vitamin D and try not to point blame, it won’t help. I think we all know where we are headed in this situation and it will be terrible for us all but necessary for our country. We are all in this together. So be kind and stay at home #thislittlepiggystayedhome

10.01.2022 Week one down at Middleton Primary! I am so proud of my boys for how they have adapted to home schooling - I actually have to say that I think they handled this week better then the last - routine is the base that keeps our family functioning! And a bonus for me is that I brought back Home Ec and the boys have learnt how to do the washing and they did dishes ... A big thanks again to all of our clients who have been very patient and understanding during this difficult time. We are working through all enquires as quickly as possible. We are still taking on new work and will be updating our processes wherever possible to make things easier moving forward. Happy Friday!! #routineisagoodmove #nowtoplannextweekscurriculum

10.01.2022 ***COVID-19 UPDATE*** I thought I wouldn’t have to do another update like this one but here we are; please know that our office is still operating, our phones are on and our emails are running hot, however with stage 3 restrictions coming back in regional Victoria there will be some changes. Our doors are locked - please do not come to the office without a pre-booked appointment - we must adhere to social distancing within the office. Please call us with any questions befo...re turning up as 95% of queries can be cleared up over the phone. All appointments will be booked at specific times to ensure the safety of staff and clients. If you have an appointment please wear a mask - we will be wearing them and you will not be allowed entry without one. Stage 3 restrictions do not effect settlements or your ability to move home in regional Victoria but with all situations there may be an exception so if you are unsure please call us to discuss. To our Melbourne clients - stage 4 restrictions don’t effect your ability to move but there is a bit more to adapt too - please call us if you have any concerns. Most importantly, please be patient, please be kind. We don’t want this, we wish we could open our doors and operate normally, however we are lucky to be operating at all. Thanks again to our clients for understanding and adapting to all of the changes throughout the year. We appreciate your support. And to our friends with small businesses that are having to shut their doors again - deep breaths and wine are still available - we are here to support you all however we can. Jenna.
