25.01.2022 Good Samaritan students are offered many opportunities for learning. Last week a group of students attended the Diocesan WEN Student Ambassador Day. A great opportunity to connect with other students across the Diocese about their ideas & vision for the future of our planet. Listen to what Good Samaritan Year 5 student, Maya, had to say on WIN news. #environment #opportunityforlearning #CEDoW #WINNews6pm #movedtocompassion #GSFMDoW

16.01.2022 It is likely that this weekend, many of our children will be connecting with friends via online gaming. It is important that we take an active role in understanding the features of these popular games, so we can engage in conversations with our children and ensure we are keeping them safe while online. Please take the time over the weekend to have a look at some helpful information from our e-safety commissioner. Enjoy your Sunday everyone! https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents/big-issues/gaming

12.01.2022 Tomorrow Good Samaritan will celebrate Autism Awareness Month, although here at Good Sam, we believe each and every day is a day worth celebrating all the things that makes each one of us unique and special. We will enjoy a day of learning and activities, starting with a liturgy lead by our students in Amaroo, as well as students who have been able to transition to classes full time with their peers and share their abilities with their friends and teachers thanks to the wonderful families, caring staff and specialists who set them up for success. We make a pretty good team we think! What a wonderful gift to be able to give one another.. we certainly are better together. Just ask these beautiful families . Can’t wait to share our day with you tomorrow. DON’T FORGET TO WEAR YOUR BLUE MUFTI ! #AutismAwarenessMonth2021 #gsfm #amaroo

12.01.2022 What you do and say makes a difference, you just have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.. Jane Goodall. Congratulations to our newly appointed school leaders. Matisse and Christian are our Captains, and they are supported by Finley, Cohen, Noah, Mikayla, Evie and Emma as Vice Captains. This was a rigorous process for all involved and we are extremely proud of the effort all the participants showed. You took it very seriously and showed our student body you are ready to lead and inspire with pride, respect and compassion. We look forward to the year ahead and congratulate you on this important role #gsfm #schoolleaders2021,,

11.01.2022 Today was a true celebration at GSFM. The day was celebrated with a liturgy for St Joseph, followed by Harmony day celebrations and world happiness day with whole school activities. It’s always lovely to see the smiles and laughter that come with a true sense of community. Thank you to everyone who made this day so memorable for the children. We learnt during Covid to never take these moments for granted! Ps... a big thank you for the teacher at lunch! Teacher happiness

10.01.2022 We came into your home and we did not knock, yet you still welcome us to Country. We respect your invitation to share in a mutual respect for land, people and dreaming. We thank you for welcoming us, and we promise to educate ourselves to the laws of the land we share. NAIDOC week begins tomorrow. We look forward to bringing you our response to your welcome. #alwayswasalwayswillbeaboriginalland #naidocweek2020 #GSFM

09.01.2022 SPOTLIGHT ON Milla English - Year 3 Today our youngest champion swimmer Milla swam her way into our hearts. A little pocket rocket with a humble smile and quiet confidence. We asked Milla’s big sister Macy to tell us a little about her swimming story ... here’s what she said: Milla first started swimming lessons at the age of 18 months. My mum and dad said the second time around they were not as scared to put a baby in the water to learn to swim Milla now does squads... after reaching the end of all her levels. She competed in the last 2 school swimming carnivals. Last year Milla won her freestyle race, but she wasn’t old enough to go to the next level. This year Milla won her 50m freestyle race at Good Samaritan swimming carnival and then came 1st out off 22 girls at the South Coast carnival. She then went to the selection trials and placed second. Today, Milla went to Sydney Olympic Park for the NSW CPS swimming carnival. It will be so fun to go to the Olympic swimming stadium because some of the best swimmers in the world go there ! What a proud big sister. Macy waited all day for the news her sister finished 9th in the State ...AMAZING! We are so proud of you both No doubt this determination will see you both do amazing things! Thanks for sharing your sister’s story Macy .. a great athlete in your own right See more

08.01.2022 Good luck to all our students participating in the diocesan cross country carnival on Tuesday. We know you’ll do yourselves and all your friends back at school proud! #crosscountryrunning #gsfm We can’t wait to hear how you go!

07.01.2022 Some days at school there’s just a different feel in the air.. today was one of those days. It was a day to celebrate Autism, qualities that make us all special and unique, but we also got to take a moment to reflect on what really makes us special as a school community. Words don’t just hang on the walls of an office foyer, we do truely live out our motto of moved to compassion each and every day, in small acts and big gestures, in quiet smiles and loud cheers...we champion one another..staff, students, families. I believe that makes us a family. Enjoy just a few photos of the day. More to share over the coming days. #bettertogether #AutismAwarenessMonth2021 #amaroo #GSFM

07.01.2022 Congratulations to all our Year 3 students celebrating the sacrament of the Eucharist today and next week. We are all thinking of you and know what a special day it is for you and your family. #gsfm #firstholycommunion

03.01.2022 It’s back! After a years Covid hiatus, the much loved Easter raffle returned with a bang! A huge thank you to our P&F who organised this wonderful event and saw over 70 prizes this year! Thank you to everyone who donated and bought raffle tickets, the school community is extremely grateful for your generosity. There were many happy little faces today with a few lucky families taking home multiple prizes! We look forward to the Easter Hat parade tomorrow. We also farewell our much loved staff member Sue Susan Glossop. We hope you enjoy retirement and trust you know how treasured you are by the whole school community. You will be missed.
