For us who are greatly blessed to be living in a land of plenty, we associate food with most of our key celebrations. In our readings today, we are presented with two banquets: both the first reading and the Gospel refer to a banquet. However, there is a fundamental difference between the two banquets. ...Continue reading

This Saturday 17 October 2020 will mark the 10th anniversary of Saint Mary MacKillop’s canonisation at Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome, declaring her Australia’s first canonised saint.... To celebrate Mary's wonderful life and legacy, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart have produced a number of prayers and videos, and are holding a global vigil in her honour. On 16 October 2020 at 8pm AEST, the Sisters invite everyone to take part in Courage Hour, a global vigil of deep peace, prayer, and an invitation to follow Mary's lead and ‘Take Fresh Courage’. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no formal celebrations at Mary MacKillop Place for the anniversary, however, the Sisters invite you to celebrate this occasion by engaging with the resources available on www.sosj.org.au/10th-anniversary/. God Bless, Parish Staff

16.01.2022 Dear Parishioners, I hope you are all well! As we edge closer to the 19th of October deadline for further restrictions to be eased, let’s keep each other in prayer, remembering the words of St Teresa of Avila, whose feast we celebrate on the 15th of October Let nothing disturb you, nothing frighten you, all things are passing, God is unchanging. Patience gains all; nothing is lacking to those who have God: God alone is sufficient.... Also please note that October is recognised in the Catholic Church as World Mission Month, a time when Catholics all over the world join to support and celebrate global missionary work. Catholic Mission, as the Australian arm of the Pontifical Mission Societies, plays a vital role. 'What Catholic Mission and the international network of Pontifical Mission Societies can do, is to help some of the most vulnerable people in the world', This year the focus is on the essential work of priests, religious and lay missionaries in Cambodia, supporting people with disability and their families. Happy Friday! Enjoy reading the e-bulletin below!
