19.01.2022 Congratulations to our Howard Springs Campus Year 5 students on their outstanding Primary Years Programme Exhibition last night. Extraordinary learning and sharing of this learning for our parents and community. Well done to teachers and all who supported this very special event.

15.01.2022 The Palmerston Campus vegetable garden has produced so many tomatoes, despite being used by the cooking club and numerous students taking them home. On Monday, Mrs Kalikajaros donated some to Foodbank NT who were thrilled to accept them. What we are all asking is - 'what are you putting on them to make them grow so well?' Well done Mrs K and all involved in this great garden project.

15.01.2022 ARTiculate Awards - congratulations to all students who received Art / Design awards at recent assemblies.

15.01.2022 We were gifted some gorgeous little angels yesterday from our Howard Springs Early Learning Centre. The 'crafted' angels were pretty cute too!

13.01.2022 Year 5 Camp each year is centred around leadership skills. This year, Year 5 students from Palmerston Campus participated in a variety of activities designed around The Four C's of 21st Century Learning - critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. They started the day in groups of 4-5, racing against each other in The Amazing Race. Each clue led them to a teacher and three activities. Mr Godber's STEM Challenges: build a bridge, light it up and create a ...beat. Mrs Atkinson's Challenges: 100 exercises, hopscotch with a twist and a song writing challenge. Miss Tolhurst's Challenges: fly the drone through the hoops, use the drones to find hidden words and make the tallest tower with 13 cups. After recess, students stayed in their groups and participated in an online Scavenger Hunt as well as an Escape Room. Both of these activities showed us how well they work with others, how creative they can be in their thinking and how they have learnt to draw on each other's strengths. The afternoon saw the arrival of a 22m long inflatable obstacle course. It was epic. Students raced one another, dodging and diving the obstacles. Their energy levels were through the roof as they played for over two hours racing each other and the teachers. After dinner, Mr Kyle and Mr Synnott ran some games with the students on the oval. Day two - we reinflated the obstacle course for Round 2. It was great to see the collegiality the students demonstrated during this time. Then we sunscreened up and got ready for water play. Waterslides and water fights, soap and shaving foam. It was lots of fun and we all enjoyed racing down the slides. Students took the Go Pro and filmed themselves sliding. A big thank you to Mr Synnott for helping with the supervision overnight. A big thank you to Mr Godber and Mrs Atkinson for their support organising and running activities. And finally, a HUGE thank you to our amazing Year 5 students who proved what we already knew - that they are wonderful people who have grown and matured so much this year!

13.01.2022 Years 9, 10 and 11 Communication Products' students held a fabulous display of their projects earlier today. Visiting students left feedback regarding the 3D projects. Well done to all students on these incredible designs.

10.01.2022 Good Shepherd took five teams to the Middle School PARRs Beach Volleyball Tournament yesterday, with all teams competing with fantastic enthusiasm. It was noted by a staff member from another school that our students showed great sportsmanship in shaking hands with the opposite team, regardless of the results. Accompanying teachers Beth Rennes and Ed Sayer were very proud of the teams and their participation throughout the day. Well done everyone, this is just tremendous!

01.01.2022 Year 7 students have spent the past two days presenting their Interdisciplinary Units (IDUs) to fellow students and staff, after weeks of work. These IDUs are a union of Mathematics and Individuals and Societies subjects - part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Students showed their perspectives of a location in the NT and how tourism could be increased by highlighting the wonders and positively influence the perspective of tourists. Congratulations to all students on your marvellous research and presentations.

We look forward to seeing you at the Middle / Senior campus next week.

01.01.2022 Palmerston Campus Transition, Year 1 and Year 4 classes went on a well deserved excursion to the Territory Wildlife Park yesterday. Despite the heat and humidity, the students got to have some wonderful wildlife encounters and learned a lot of interesting facts about our Top End wildlife. Some of the exhibits experienced were the Wallaby Muster, Pelican Breaky, Buffalo Talk, Flight Deck Presentation, the Nocturnal House and the Aquarium. All students had a wonderful time and were very grateful to the extremely helpful TWP staff. Some students even had a little nap on the return trip to school. A fantastic, fun and informative day.
