24.01.2022 We think its safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, ...families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our Goodstarters rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So weve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to celebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime we'd love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether

19.01.2022 As the Victorian Government has now made 'mask-wearing' mandatory from 11:59pm Wednesday 22nd July 2020, we also require the wearing of face masks into our Centre please from this date also. If you forget your face mask, please ring the doorbell and you will have to drop off or pick up your child from the gated area outside the front door. Thank you for your ongoing support and co-operation.

19.01.2022 Make sure you check on your friends and family even more so with isolation and everything else going on in the world #ruok2020

18.01.2022 From 11:59pm on Wednesday, face coverings will be mandatory for everyone aged 12 and over in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. Victoria's Chief Health ...Officer recommends a fabric mask made of at least three layers or a disposable surgical mask as the most effective ways to cover your face. If you don't have either of those, the experts say a scarf or bandana is still better than nothing. And remember: face coverings are in addition to washing your hands, staying home, and keeping 1.5m from other people when you're in a public place not instead of. Here are some tips.

17.01.2022 DONT FORGET PJ WEEK STARTS TOMORROW

16.01.2022 When I wear a mask in public: I want you to know that I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus. No, I dont live in fear of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem. I dont feel like the government is controlling me; I feel like Im being a contributing adult to society and I want to teach others the same. The world doesnt revolve around me. Its not all about me and my comfort.... If we all could live with other people's consideration in mind, this whole world would be a much better place. Wearing a mask doesnt make me weak, scared, stupid, or even controlled. It makes me considerate. When you think about how you look, how uncomfortable it is, or what others think of you, just imagine someone close to you - a child, a father, a mother, grandparent, aunt, or uncle - choking on a respirator, alone without you or any family member allowed at bedside. Ask yourself if you could have sucked it up a little, for them. Artwork @teafly Copied and posted.

14.01.2022 Hi there!! For all our current families please ensure you are connected to Storypark and if your not let the girls know as over the next couple of weeks, due to changes of lockdown 4 we will be using Storypark on a more regular basis to keep our friends that are at home up to date with what we are doing at the centre. This will also benefit the child who are still in centre as well as we are hoping to a number of different options like FaceTime and Teams to connect with the children so they can still see their friends... We cant wait to see all our little friends and families on the other side and we can all be back together again making more memories

13.01.2022 Dear families, On Wednesday 2 September its Early Childhood Educators Day! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the amazing team we have here at Goodstart Melton Centenary Avenue. This has been a big year for everyone at our centre and we were hoping you would join us in celebrating this in a special way this year.... Early Childhood Educators Day happens to coincide with the start of spring and what better way to show our appreciation than saying it with FLOWERS! Wed love to fill the centre with some springtime joy and ask if you could possibly bring some greenery or flowers in on the day, for our centre or for the educators in your childs room. It doesnt matter whether they are from a shop, from your garden or from the side of the road they will surely put a smile on the faces of our educators! Maybe your little one would even like to create a card and draw flowers or a portrait of your favourite educator? Let your creativity run wild! Thank you so much for your support, we are looking forward to brightening up the day together with you! See more

07.01.2022 We're asking a lot of Victorians right now and I want to thank you all for your patience and willingness to get on board with these changes. I know people hav...e a lot of questions about what is and isn't allowed. I'll do my best to answer them. But the main point I want to make is this: The aim of Stage 3 restrictions is to limit the physical contact we have with each other. To slow the spread of coronavirus and to save lives. And it requires all of us to listen to the advice, follow the rules and use a bit of common sense. What we don't need is people looking for loopholes so they can keep doing whatever they want and carrying on as normal. If you don't absolutely have to go somewhere or see someone or buy something don't. Stay at home. Treat it as a matter of life or death. Because it is.

06.01.2022 On this sunny day Happy Fathers Day to all the special people that have this role in our life.. Enjoy your day and be safe

03.01.2022 We can all get through this.. so please ensure you check not only your childrens temperature but your own.. Please ensure that we sanitize hands when entering the centre as well as the room.. Also please ensure that one person enters the centre with the children and if you have school age children with you they will need to stay one the couch.. PLEASE IF YOUR CHILD IS SHOWING SIGNS OF A COUGH, RUNNY NOSE (GREEN OR CLEAR) OR A TEMPERATURE PLEASE DONT BRING THEM IN AND CHILDR...EN WILL BE SENT HOME IF THESE SYMPTOMS SHOW THROUGHOUT THE DAY... THEY WILL REQUIRE A MEDICAL CLEARANCE TO RETURN.. We understand that we are coming in to the cold season where a lot of these symptoms will occur but for the safety of the staff and the other children we will be becoming strict on this as we are doing our best not to have an outbreak at the centre.. Thanks everyone and we can get through this if we just follow the rules See more

02.01.2022 Hi everyone. Bit of good news for your Sunday morning. Because of our high rates of testing and our low levels of community transmission, we're now able to pla...n for the coming weeks and getting back to a few more of the things everyone's been missing. From 11.59pm on 31 May, we'll be increasing gathering limits to 20 people and allowing overnight stays. That means you can sleep over at a mate's or rent somewhere for a weekend away. And more community facilities and businesses will be able to reopen including places like libraries, community centres, beauty therapy and tattoo studios. As with everything, these changes come with strict rules around distancing, density and hygiene. The contact details of customers and people using the facilities will also need to be recorded to allow tracing. I'm sure people will have questions about why X is allowed if you can't do Y but this really isn't an exercise in 'whataboutery'. We've had to make some tough calls. We can't just open the floodgates on everything all at once, and risk throwing away all our hard work. I hope people appreciate this point. We have to be cautious and careful. Then, if it all goes to plan and we're tracking okay with case numbers, we'll be able to make some more changes a bit later in the month. From 11.59pm on 21 June, that would include reopening gyms, indoor sports facilities, movie theatres and the snow season will be able to kick off. And finally, a message to all our employers out there. I really need your help on this one. I appreciate this isn't possible for all workplaces. But if your staff are able to work from home, and have been doing so we need to keep that going. We simply can't have thousands of people on trains and trams let alone the logistical challenges of communal kitchens, lifts and big office buildings. I know I've said this before, but as we all have more choices and more options, it's even more important: Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should race out and do it. We've come so far and it's up to all of us to make this work.

02.01.2022 On Early Childcare Educators Day we are enjoying our tea from Melton City Nutrition.. They were delicious so thank you very much.. We will be definitely back

02.01.2022 2020 has not been the year any of us wanted. Cancelled events. Plans put on pause. Uncertainty about what the future holds. And I guess thats why so many peo...ple want to pretend this is over. Others dont have that luxury. In the last 36 hours we lost two more Victorian lives to this deadly virus. We dont yet know their names, their stories or the circumstances in which they died. All we do know is that except for the company and compassion of the medical staff who cared for them they would have died alone. No family. No friends. No holding hands. No goodbyes. Denied the last quiet moments that we all hope for. Thats how dangerous and infectious this disease is. Thankfully, its a fate that most Victorian families have not been asked to endure. And I think, for some, thats led to a creeping complacency. But although today its someone else tomorrow it could be you, or me. I know a lot of people aren't scared because this feels like something happening to other people in other parts of the world. But you should be scared of this. Im scared of this. We all should be. Yesterday, we reached a grim new milestone, the most cases in a single day. Today, we surpassed it. Its clear we are on the cusp of our second wave and we cannot let this virus cut through our communities. Its why based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer, Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions will be reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire from 11:59pm on Wednesday 8 July. For six weeks, and if you live in these areas, therell be only four reasons to leave your home: Shopping for food and essential items. Care and caregiving. Daily exercise. Work and study if you cant do it from home. Otherwise: Stay home. Stay home. Stay home. In case it needs repeating, stay home. We are fighting a global and deadly pandemic. This Stay at Home direction will apply to your principal place of residence that means no escaping to holiday homes. And because we need to limit the spread of the virus across our state, there will only be three reasons to cross the border of these metropolitan areas: Shopping for food and essential items. Care and caregiving. Work and study if you cant do it from home. Unless youre a local, that means no fishing trips at Lakes Entrance. No four-hour hikes in the Grampians. Businesses in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will also return to Stage 3 restrictions. Restaurants and cafes will return to takeaway and delivery services only. Beauty and personal services will need to close. Entertainment and cultural venues will need to close. Community sport will need to stop. I know just how tough this will be for these businesses and for their workers. I promise, well have more to say shortly about support to help get you through. I also understand six weeks might feel like an eternity. But its the time our health experts tell us they need to really get on top of this thing. Many parents, teachers and students will be worried about what happens with the school year. I can confirm that all Year 11 and Year 12 students in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will go back to school for Term 3 as planned, along with our special schools. For students Prep to Year 10, were going to extend the school holidays by one week, so we can get more advice from our health experts. But I want to be upfront and let parents know that a return to remote learning for these kids is a possibility, if thats what they tell us is safest. For people who live in regional Victoria, where case numbers remain low, current restrictions will remain the same for now. Weve talked about this virus being like a public health bushfire. By putting a ring around metropolitan Melbourne, were essentially putting in place a perimeter to protect regional Victorians. This is not where any of us wanted to be, but we have to face the reality of our situation. To do anything else would have deadly consequences. I dont take this step lightly. And I know just how deeply frustrating this is for everyone. But Im asking you, please talk to your families. Talk to your friends. Talk to your neighbours. Talk to your communities. This isnt over. And until there is a vaccine or a drug or a cure, there is no such thing as normal. For every restriction that you break and all the health advice that you ignore the consequence may be someones life. Now more than ever, we need Victorians to play their part. Lives are counting on it.

02.01.2022 This Friday 30th October is Halloween dress up day..some come wearing your favourite costume and if you have scary one you can see if you can see the educators or your friends
