21.01.2022 Key educator relationships: Helping children reach their full potential through secure attachments and individual care and education is at the heart of Goodstarts key educator relationships. Goodstart has committed to working towards key educator relationships in all centres nationally to promote continuity and consistency through nurturing relationships between educators and children individually and in small groups.... Key educators give families and children one or two people in the centre who are deeply connected to the child, their development, their rituals and their specific needs. For families, this means they always have a go to person in the centre to discuss their child, ask questions or raise concerns while for children, key educators help to form strong and secure relationships which are essential for learning and well-being.
20.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo! See more

15.01.2022 Our Senior Toddlers have been busy creating sun catchers from flora found in our playgrounds. Natural materials, such as bark, flowes and leaves, can be used in a wide range of ways in playtime to promote wonder and curiosity while learning. As children explore and collect natural materials they are able to actively investigate scientific concepts, while being imaginative and creative.

13.01.2022 Cutting gives young children independent movements of each finger. Cutting with scissors works on the separation of two sides of the hand and strengthens hand muscles. Bilateral coordination is also addressed when they have to hold the scissors in one hand and paper in the other. Cutting on a line and switching directions are great visual motor activities. The positioning of the scissors in a child's hand also starts to work on the tripod grasp. This is why scissors are so important in kindergarten as it is a precursor for handwriting.

09.01.2022 Teaching children to care for the environment is a learning experience that is an important part of growing up. It gives them skills in respect, empathy, patience, responsibility, and teaches them about consequences. But it also teaches them valuable lessons about sustainability and how we want to leave the world for future generations. Showing children how to recycle properly is like passing the baton to them for a cleaner and brighter future.
08.01.2022 Threading is a great activity to help children develop fine motor skills essential for being able to draw, write, do up buttons, tie shoelaces, open lunch boxes and more. Threading also helps to develop eye-hand coordination and concentration skills.

05.01.2022 Through constructive play a child will learn what will work and what will not. Trial-and-error is a great method in which to create structures and modify methods. Overcoming problems to build structures in a particular way will always aid creative thinking and problem solving skills. #playbasedlearning #learningforlife
05.01.2022 Learning about ANZAC Day helps young children to understand the life and times of Australia and its people. By building young childrens understandings about the traditions of ANZAC Day, the many real life stories of sacrifices and heroism of everyday Australians will not be lost, but be handed down to future generations. Our vacation care children have been learning about ANZAC Day and due to celebrations being a little different this year have decided to mail messages and drawings of appreciation to our local RSL.
