24.01.2022 It is a beautiful dry season morning, perfect to spend out in the sandpit. Benefits of Sand and Water Play: - Enables children to develop pride and negotiating skills (asking others not to knock down a sand castle that's just been built).... - Encourages children to play cooperatively with others (sharing and taking turns of sand and water play equipment). - Develops children's creativity (moulding wet sand into different shapes). - Teaches problem solving skills (figuring out how to dig a tunnel in wet sand so it won't collapse). - Children improve coordination skills (filling up measuring spoons and cups). - Develops child hand / eye coordination (shovelling sand into a bucket). - Gives children an understanding of cause and effect relationships (predicting what will happen when water is added to the sand). Through Sand and Water play children begin using skills of math and science, through hands on experience. When children begin mixing water with sand, it provides children with an understanding of cause and effect relationships. When water is added to the sand, the sand becomes firmer and the water is absorbed. The wet sand is a lot heavier than before and therefore the density has changed too. Wet sand can be manipulated through molding or being shaped. Sand and Water play can also be used to effectively to calm children's minds and bodies. How lucky are we to have such a nice big sandpit area to play in! Have a great Wednesday

23.01.2022 Some of our areas ready for the children to explore when they wake up today. Dinosaurs seem to the favourite animal for this week and each day we are trying to incorporate them into our experiences. The toddlers love caring for there babies; we feed them, bath them, rock them to sleep, dress them with nappies and clothes. Happy Thursday Everyone!!

23.01.2022 Keep learning and having fun this Summer and watch their love of learning grow. We’re open all through December & January, except public holidays.

21.01.2022 2020 has been a year like no other. A year to remind ourselves what we’re truly for. We’re excited to share with you a short TV ad we’ve put together that looks back on the year that was and how we all came together in this extraordinary year. We adapted to change, tackled a global pandemic head on and never lost sight of what really mattered early learning, care and support for children, no matter what. Because we’re Goodstart. ... 20.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo!

16.01.2022 Dear families, On Wednesday 2 September it’s Early Childhood Educators Day! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the amazing team we have here at Goodstart Bees Creek This has been a big year for everyone at our centre and we were hoping you would join us in celebrating this in a special way this year.... Early Childhood Educators Day happens to coincide with the start of spring and what better way to show our appreciation than saying it with FLOWERS! We’d love to fill the centre with some springtime joy and ask if you could possibly bring some greenery or flowers in on the day, for our centre or for the educators in your child’s room. It doesn’t matter whether they are from a shop, from your garden or from the side of the road they will surely put a smile on the faces of our educators! Maybe your little one would even like to create a card and draw flowers or a portrait of your favourite educator? Let your creativity run wild! Thank you so much for your support, we are looking forward to brightening up the day together with you! Rebecca Elliott See more

12.01.2022 The year before school is so important for young children. It’s where they learn the skills to develop the confidence they need to make a smooth transition to school. At Goodstart the Preschool program is evidence based and is specifically designed for children aged 3-5 years. The curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which is delivered by degree-qualified Early Childhood Teachers. This program nurtures children’s collaboration, communication, creativity ...and critical thinking skills. Our approach gives your child the full benefits of a daily learning program while you are supported with the longer care hours we provide. That means your child gets the best start to their schooling, while you juggle the day-to-day demands of life. Find out more at: https://www.goodstart.org.au/preschools
