25.01.2022 Hi everyone, Due to todays announcement, unfortunately stage 4 restrictions will continue until 27th September 2020. This means that until this date our centre will continue to be open only for permitted workers/permitted industries and vulnerable families. I know this is not the news we were hoping for. These past few months have been very hard, with many challenges for individual families. And todays annoucement just feels like another blow. Please remember.... WE ARE HE...RE FOR YOU. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER. If you need anything; supplies, financial support, or someone to just listen and have a friendly chat with, please reach out. 23.01.2022 SURPRISE! SURPRISE! Happy Fathers Day to all our amazing dads, dadas, fathers, papas, stepdads, grandads, uncles and many more! During drop off and pick up tomorrow, please help yourself to one of our gifts. We hope you enjoy them just as much as we enjoyed making them. If your child does not attend tomorrow, you are welcome to pop by and grab one. We dont want anyone missing out!... As you are collecting your gifts tomorrow, make sure to snap some photos with your little ones and share them with us on Storypark. Whilst we cant all be together, we can still celebrate together! 23.01.2022 Dear Families, As you know we are waiting on more detailed information from the State and Federal Governments about the impact of Stage 4 restrictions on our centre. We expect to know more tomorrow but in the meantime heres some information on our plans. What is likely to happen this week:... At this stage we plan to open as usual on Thursday and Friday for eligible children Once we have more information on who will be permitted to send their children to our centre we will be in touch but if you believe your family is likely to be a permitted worker your child can attend as normal Here are a few things we can be sure of: If your child is not permitted to attend for the next 6 weeks your gap fees will be waived and all direct debit arrangements paused It will be important to keep your childs booking with us during this time as it ensures we still receive Government funding so that we can pay wages and be ready to welcome your family when the restrictions are lifted We will apply for more absences for your child if you are concerned will exceed the current 42 days of CCS allowable absences From Monday 10th August (unless we are instructed by the government to do otherwise): We will be accepting children from permitted workers and those who need extra support at this time Our strict hygiene rules including temperature checks and foyer drop-off and pick-ups will continue Our centre team will offer remote learning for children who are not able to attend the centre with educator time being offered on-line and even more home learning resources being made available through Goodstart@Home Thankyou again for your continuing support during this difficult and uncertain time. 20.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder to all of our families as of tomorrow, you will be required to wear a face mask when entering the Centre to drop off/pick up your child. And here at Goodstart, we were also thrilled to launch our new Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) during NAIDOC Week! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the amazing team we have here at Goodstart Bentleigh East South Road. This has been a big year for everyone at our centre and we were hoping you would join us in celebrating this in a special way this year.... Early Childhood Educators Day happens to coincide with the start of spring and what better way to show our appreciation than saying it with FLOWERS! Wed love to fill the centre with some springtime joy and ask if you could possibly bring some greenery or flowers in on the day, for our centre or for the educators in your childs room. It doesnt matter whether they are from a shop, from your garden or from the side of the road they will surely put a smile on the faces of our educators! The children will participate in many traditional Diwali customs including Henna tattoo. If you do not wish for your child to have Henna, please inform your child's educators.

08.01.2022 Today the Victorian Premier announced that from Sunday night (tonight), Melbourne will move to Stage 4 restrictions with stronger rules to limit the movement of people and limit the spread of this virus across the city. New restrictions for schools and early learning centres will apply from Wednesday. At this stage, our centre will remain open for the children of essential and emergency workers as well as for vulnerable children.... We are currently working through the detail of this with the Government to determine these definitions. I appreciate this is an uncertain time for many of our families but please be assured that all of the South Road Team are here to support you and your children as much as we can. As frontline essential workers our Goodstarters rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So weve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to ce...lebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. 05.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the free childcare package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo!
