14.01.2022 This week some of our leadership team were lucky enough to participate in the Family Connections program with Goodstart. It is an amazing program that enhances educators professional practice in relation to working with and supporting families. The team is energised and excited to continue with the program over the course of the next year. This week we were refreshed our Circle of Security training and delved deep in to brain development. It is an incredible program and we are grateful to be able to participate.

13.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo! https://www.abc.net.au//free-childcare-coronavir/12332066

08.01.2022 We think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our ‘Goodstarters’ rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So we’ve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to ce...lebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime we'd love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether

07.01.2022 Did anyone manage to grab their copy of The Man from Snowy River today? This is an iconic Australian story that can be explored further with your children in a ...few ways. You might want to use it as an opportunity to talk openly and honestly about our country’s history with your children. About colonisation and Australia's First Peoples. You could also talk about where your family and friends originally came from and find them on a map. See more

03.01.2022 Hands up who loves unicorns? Today is the launch of the Great Australian Storybook Collection and Thelma the Unicorn is the star! Head out to your local newsage...nt or IGA to grab your newspaper and free copy of the book, along with a free Collector Case to kick-start your collection! In the meantime, here's a little bit about Thelma... Thelma dreams of being a glamorous unicorn. Then in a rare pink and glitter-filled moment of fate (we're sure it's environmentally friendly glitter of course), Thelma's wish comes true. She rises to instant international stardom, but at an unexpected cost. Tip for families You can bring the story to life at home and encourage conversation about self-love by reading the book together and exploring with your child about what makes them special. Maybe they might want to draw pictures of the things they enjoy or are good at? For more info about the collection visit https://www.goodstart.org.au/storybook #KidsBookCollection
