16.01.2022 With another month coming to an end it’s a pleasure to Award our April Centre Educator of the mth Miss Emily from the Nursery Room Thanks for all your hard work, dedication and commitment... Miss Emily has won her Award for the inspiring and beautiful relationships that she has built with the children and families in our centre also for her adaptability to changes implemented in our service. Miss Emily is one of our centres hidden gems you will always find her at floor level cuddling, playing, talking, teaching and most importantly listening to all children’s needs. Miss Emily understands that a Loving, stable and responsive relationships are fundamental to your child’s development. Through these relationships, children learn how to think, understand, communicate, behave, express emotions and develop social skills. Playing with your child at your child’s level strengthens your relationship and encourages your child to explore, observe, experiment and solve problems. Promoting these strong secure relationships allows children to express themselves a cry, a laugh, a question and get something back a cuddle, a smile, an answer. What children ‘get back’ gives them very important information about what the world is like and how to act in the world how to think, understand, communicate, behave, show emotions and develop social skills. So a huge Congratulations to our loving Miss Emily Please pop in say Hi and take a look around our warm and friendly centre where you can meet all amazing early childhood professionals who will welcome you with a friendly smile and open heart.

14.01.2022 Messy play is a concept that can be done at home, or in daycare. Children love to be messy, whether that’s jumping in muddy puddles or finger painting - any reason to make a mess is a fun activity. As well as being enjoyable, messy play is a great way of improving all-round development of your child and with young brains being more susceptible, messy play can encourage a more creative and imaginative way of thinking that’s great for problem-solving. Messy play is a way of ...encouraging children to learn about raw materials such as mud, sand, water and paint in an unrestricted way. Children can play and explore with these without being constrained by the ‘right’ way of using them, in turn, this helps them to develop sensory experiences of how things, taste, smell and feel. There are so many benefits to messy play for all children her is just a few of them. It Fosters Curiosity, Imagination and Exploration. Encourages Communication and Language Development. Practices Good Concentration and Nurtures Future Skills. Promotes Physical Development. And Supports the Ability to Play Independently. Here at our Goodstart Bray Park - Kensington Way service we love messy play as much as our children do providing them with opportunities daily to get messy and have fun while learning.

13.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo! See more

01.01.2022 Cultural awareness is at the heart of everything we do here at Goodstart Early Learning Bray Park - Kensington Way and since late last year we have been working extra hard on embedding culture into our centre and a big part of that has been the planning and development of our own Reconciliation Action Plan ( RAP ) It’s been an amazing journey and one that is close to my heart with an indigenous family heritage myself it’s been a wonderful journey of discovery, learning , refl...ecting, planning and implementing our very own RAP. The Best part is it never stops as we never stop learning and to be able to share this with our children is one of the most rewarding parts of being An Early Childhood Education and Care Professional. Sharing our learning with the children’s learning walking the same path as they are walking exploring and learning together while having lots of fun along the way. Promoting a sense of Belonging, While being apart of such a big wonderful and inspiring multicultural family. Cultural competency is about having awareness, respect and understanding of the diversity around you. Cultural competence is respecting multiple ways of knowing, seeing and living, celebrate the benefits of diversity and have an ability to understand and honour differences. It is an opportunity for children to develop their sense of belonging and to become more aware of our differences and similarities. Cultural competence aims to foster interactions between different cultures, this means it is about the relationships we make, our attitudes, and how we honour and celebrate diversity. When we are being culturally competent we appreciate and live with difference, and we are aware of what we gain from acknowledging differences. The Children at Bray Park - Kensington Way have been exploring their culture awareness with the natural elements of the land collecting leaves, sticks, pine cones, feathers and lots of other Different loose parts found in nature. It allows them to manipulate, touch, smell and explore the world in which they live and using the amazing resources that they gathered together to learn about Australia’s Indigenous Culture through symbols and storytelling. Families are welcome to come Join in our journey we would love to hear your unique story as we believe everyone has a wonderful story to tell and your voice is important and valued. Ask to see our RAP Draft and add your voice, beliefs and cultural identity to it so our family can learn about your family. Thank you for reading about our Centre’s journey today enjoy the rest of the long weekend From Miss Marcia, Miss Tarynn and the our amazing Team.
