25.01.2022 Changes to CCS until 4 October - easing of the activity test The Government will ease the activity test requirements from 13 July until 4 October to support eligible families whose employment has been impacted as a result of COVID-19. The new rules will enable individuals who can no longer engage in the same number of hours of work, training, study or other activity that they did prior to the COVID-19 crisis to access 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight for up to 13 w...eeks. This measure will support a familys ability to access subsidised care if their activity circumstances have fallen but will require: Income estimation from families to qualify plus will be capped at 85 per cent. From 13 July 2020, families will be able to advise Services Australia they meet these requirements to access the 100 hours. This can be done through their Centrelink online account through myGov or the Express Plus Centrelink mobile APP.

21.01.2022 I had a little friend come and do some very important work with me in the office. Whilst I was doing my work, he was doing his. Kindergarten have been learning a lot about space and the solar system of late. When he was finished, he turned to me and explained his work. There were many circles wrapped around one another. I was told that these were the planets circling around the sun. He even explained which way the planets orbited. ... He then proceeded to draw the planets on their orbit in many positions. When finished with this next layer of his work, he then went through the names of each planet. Excitedly we went to show Miss Saane the finished product. Saane and our little friend sang the planet song to me. What a proud moment! When children are interested in the programme, the information they are able to retain and repeat is astonishing! #playbased #learning #space #planets #selfachievement #proud

15.01.2022 We certainly love the benefits we get out of parachute play. The children jump and run around underneath, getting those leg muscles working. Miss Liz, Miss Briley and Miss Kirsty also got an arm workout as they lifted the chute up and down, many times, as the children requested more. Parachute is great for enhancing our gross motor skills.

Miss Saane has helped to extend this learning interest by providing an opt-in experience where the children could practice writing letters of their choice. Whilst being school ready for us means preparing and strengthening the muscles in our fingers and wrists ready for formal schooling years, if children show genuine interest in writing etc. we are happy to provide them the materials they need to challenge themselves, with no pressure to get it right. #playbased #interestlead

04.01.2022 We’ve had a special friend in quarantine for the last couple of weeks. Tomorrow he goes for his Covid test and providing we get a negative result, some fun should follow from Tuesday on. I wonder what antics he’ll get up to? Where will we find him each day? Hopefully he won’t get up to too much mischief each night whilst we are away from the centre!

04.01.2022 Today we celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month with a pink day - to honour those who have fought and won, those who have fought and lost and those who are currently fighting breast cancer. We currently have a family at our centre whose fight has just begun and we wanted her to know we are right there beside her, supporting her and her family during their tough time. One of our Nanny’s is a survivor, we are thankful she is still here to enjoy her family. More people have connections to this great cause than we realise, so we are raising money for the breast cancer foundation through lolly guessing comps, a raffle with a whole heap of prizes and goodies that we will bake for purchasing throughout the week. #breastcancerawareness #wewalkwithyou #pinkday
