17.01.2022 Thank you to the Deal family for our weekly box of mandarines straight from the farm. It has become a bit of a morning ritual for me to sit around our large yarning mat while learning to peel our own fruit with the over 2s. In an authentic experience, we are able to not only work on some fundamental skills but have rich conversations that lead to deeper relationships... and of course we are getting some extra fruit in to our diets at the same time !!! ... - Miss Denell

15.01.2022 Allowing children to create with surfaces other than paper gives the opportunity to explore texture, colour saturation and how the paints blend on various surfaces. This morning we were able to explore these concepts and discuss the odd shapes of our large garden rocks as we painted with various textured paints.

12.01.2022 Our Kindergarten children have been actively engaging in conversations about germs and where we would find germs in our Kindergarten environment. We are using pieces of bread that have been rubbed on different surfaces to visually track the "germs" from these surfaces. Over the next week we will be documenting the journey in our floor book, located in our science area. If you have a few extra minutes each day, stop by and have a look at the progress and our observations. ... I wonder which surface will have the most change ?

As you know the Government announced today that the free childcare package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart.
