16.01.2022 This morning we had a visit from a wildlife carer who brought a special guest with her. This baby Joey who is only a couple of weeks old ignited the children’s curiosity and engaged their attention. She was unbelievable soft to touch and we showed that we could be gentle and caring.

06.01.2022 Putting your child/ren into care is a really big deal, because you are handing over your whole heart to someone else! Choosing the right option goes beyond th...e practical aspects of location, hours and fees, and should also include the feeling you get towards the people and the environment there. While that might sound slightly strange to rely on "feelings" or "gut instinct", in this case it can prove to be very powerful. It can also have a huge impact on how you cope with making the decision and leaving your child/ren each time. This goes for all kind of care, including daycares, preschools, nannies and family day care. It's essential to trust, feel respected, communicate well, have shared values and feel comfortable within the relationship (yep, just like with other significant relationships in life!). If you find the right care for your child/ren, then everyone benefits and it can be so wonderful. The play and learning your child/ren will experience will be phenomenal! Despite having worked in the industry for some time, I didn't fully comprehend how hard it was until I had to go through it myself with Leo who was 6 months old at the time... Now, I feel so much joy knowing he is safe, playing, happy and learning in such a wonderful and caring centre. I'm sure that I will hide a little tear when dropping off baby Alec for the first time next year, but I'm already excited for the amazing experiences he will be part of. While the whole process can feel overwhelming, stressful and confusing, I really want to share with you: please don't feel alone and don't let it consume you. Take it step by step, ask for help if you need it, and follow your instincts. If you have done this before, what extra advice would you share? Any questions?? Please comment!

06.01.2022 Closed for the public holiday Monday 5 October .... have a good long weekend stay safe.
