20.01.2022 Today our Toddlers planned a very special activity for World Gratitude Day and we had to share it with you all! This weeks focus within the Toddlers room is all about our emotions and we tied this into todays WGD. Miss Bec talked to the Toddlers about their feelings and emotions and we discussed how WGD is all about what makes us happy and what we are grateful for. We thought it would be lovely for the toddlers to do a special colouring in and then go and give it to one of the educators... we are all so grateful to each and every educator with in our service.. The toddlers took turns at going with Miss Bec to give their drawings out... we brought smiles to everyones faces and they all got big hugs... This creates a sense of belonging not only within the centre but within our community too..

18.01.2022 Each week our Pre-Kindy class focus on a new letter and last week they were up to the letter Jj. On Wednesday they participated in a Jumping Jellybean Art experience. Miss Mariah placed some paper, jelly beans and blobs of paint inside a large container, she then placed on the lid and away they went. Jumping and shaking the container all around resulting in the jellybeans spreading the paint. Through this experience they developed their fine motor skills, gross motor skills..., balance, and hand eye coordination whilst having an absolute ball! What a fun and unusual activity. Well done Pre-Kindy

17.01.2022 During the first month of the yoga and wellness program we explored the theme: I love myself, I care about others, I am Yoga. Its has been magic seeing the children practicing yoga at Kindy and also hearing feedback that they are loving it at home too. Last Monday we started our next 5 weeks program and this theme will is: Emotions and Feelings. Our Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten Classes started the first week of the new program last week. It was full of emotions as the chi...ldren started sharing what makes they feel sad. Everyone has feelings but feelings never stay. They come and go, they change and grow. Feeling sad.. at time some sadder feelings are with your for a while. It helps to find someone you love, to talk and share smile. By doing yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises we can turn a cloudy day to a beautiful rainbow.

11.01.2022 Our beautiful Miss Ana is shaving her long hair and donating it through VARIETY to a child who has lost their hair due to a medical condition. She has decided that she will shave her hair completely and one of our Hair Dresser mothers 'Brea Kingsland' has warmly offered to shave Ana's hair here at the Kindy. On Monday 12th of October at 2pm we will live stream via our Facebook Page this amazing experience. Please get behind Miss Ana and a wonderful cause by donating on the below link. I'm sure we can help Ana with getting her Goal started and on track.

10.01.2022 Last week our Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten Classes participated in our third combined classroom day, with this focus being the letter L which was our letter of the week. Both classes separated into four small groups to participate in a range of activities planned for the children. These activities were; lemon and lime tasting, lego, limbo and Leo the Lion Yoga. The children had a ball participating in each of these activities and its great to see them interacting so well with... peers in other classes. For the Pre-Kindy children it allows them to be able to learn from the older children who can model the correct behaviours for them. As for kindergarten this is a great concept as it starts to introduce them to buddy system which they will use in Prep next year. As you can see from the photos the children were unsure of the lemon and lime tasting but everyone gave it a go. They were rewarded with a lolly at the end of the day! We will continue to participate in these Combined classroom days once a month to provide the children with the best kindy experience possible! Well done Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten

09.01.2022 Last week we explored different ways to do Yoga with our Super Yogis! We had Yoga Bug Flow with our Senior Toddlers - learning about bugs and insects in a fun way by adding yoga poses for each of them! The children loved it! With our big friends from Pre Kindy and Kindy friends we started with some breathing exercises, practised our stretches, before moving into taking turns giving our Yoga Partner a lovely massage using our gentle hands. ... What an absolute lovely experience! We are looking forward to our final week of our first Super Yogis Program

09.01.2022 R U OK Day? Today in our older classrooms of Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten there were lots of discussions about this important day! Through watching a small video created by the founders of R U OK Day designed for children they learnt steps to assist their friends or loved ones. Step 1- Ask R U OK? ... Step 2 - Listen Step 3 - Encourage Action Step 4 - Check in Or as the children learnt it ALEC! In both of these rooms they nominated children in their class for being good friends and they were rewarded with certificates. The children also used their creativity and imagination to draw ways that they are good friends to others. In our younger classrooms we took part in age appropriate discussions about how we can be good friends and to check on our friends if they are feeling sad! Well done everyone

09.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago while exploring the yard a group of Pre-Kindy children and Miss Mariah were building with blocks when one child suggested we build a camp fire. This discussion became quite popular whilst building the campfire and they even pretended to cook marshmallows. From here we spoke about what we do when we go camping with our families and there was lots of great responses including; hiking, fishing, swimming, cloud gazing, cooking on the bbq and sleeping in tents. Last Friday Miss Mariah and the pre-kindy educators set up a camping day for the children. They were lucky enough to have a tent, small bbq, water play with sea animals, finishing activity and the children loved cloud gazing. They even slept outside in the fresh air which was so lovely! Well done Pre-Kindy

08.01.2022 Happy National Early Childhood Educator Day A big thank you to all of our amazing educators for all you do, day in and day out! You are all greatly appreciated! Yesterday, Miss Mariah, Miss Kim, Miss Amanda and the Pre-Kindy children prepared little gifts for each of the educators to say Thank you for everything that they do. During the morning the children delivered the special gifts around the centre! ... Miss Haylee supplied a DIY Cold Rock for the educators to enjoy as a lovely surprise! A big thank you to everyone

Its so great to see them finally participating by doing the actions and bobbing along to their educators singing. There facial expressions and laughter display how much fun they are having!

This year the National Science Week theme was Deep Blue - innovation for the future of our ocean. ... 05.01.2022 Extra Curricular Activities are finally back which means today we were introduced to Miss Justine from Kids Move! Everyone from Senior Toddlers, Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten participated in a free trial of this new and fun activity that will be offered every Thursday morning for $7 per session. We met Miss Justine who showed us how to move our bodies, stretch, dance and have fun, all to the tune of some great dance music. We started with driving the hoola hoops around the yard... developing spacial awareness and control. Miss Justine gave us each a soft animal that we guessed the name of, then practiced hand eye coordination as we threw and caught them. We took them back to our hoops where we did wiggly dances to wake the animals up. When we were finished, they went back to sleep in the big suitcase. We finished off our class with some coordination games. At the end of the class, everyone got a sticker for great participation. After each class two children will be rewarded with a certificate for there participation and sportsmanship. Miss Justine told us that each week, she takes the children on a new journey with new toys, equipment and games to play. The class will be $7 each week and if you would like your child to attend, please let us know or write your childs name on the sign up form displayed in each of the classrooms. A flyer has also been placed in your childs pocket for you to read about. We hope you can become part of this awesome opportunity, as the children had so much fun! Well done everyone!

Miss Rachel begins her new adventure at Goodstart Varsity Lakes on Monday as Miss Nic is returning!
