18.01.2022 Aboriginal art is art made by indigenous Australian people. It includes work made in many different ways including painting on leaves, wood carving, rock carving, sculpting, ceremonial clothing and sand painting. Aboriginal art is closely linked to religious ceremonies or rituals. It is an important part of the world's oldest continuous cultural tradition, based on totems and the Dreaming. All the designs, painted or drawn, have a story behind them. These artworks on displa...y in the foyer are by indigenous artist Michael Connolly. Michael Connolly is a well-recognised Aboriginal artist. Born in Charleville with traditional ties to the Kullilla tribe from his father's side and Muruwari people on his mother's side, he now calls Redcliffe, Queensland home. Dreamtime Kullilla-Art These types of learning environments are used throughout the centre consistently to ensure children are exposed to culture and diversity. Exposing kids to cultural diversity is a great way to promote open thinking and foster resiliency in children. By exposing children to different lifestyles and different perspectives, we help them understand that there are a variety of different ways to think and feel. 10.01.2022 Today is world environment day. We embraced this by setting up a recycling station on our playground to see if we could work out what items were recyclable and which ones weren’t. We also used recyclable materials in our play using our imaginations to create our families, structures and different buildings. Using these types of materials saves money, reduces landfill and teaches our children how to be respectful of our environment. What can you make out of recyclables over the weekend?

06.01.2022 Today in the Senior Playground the children were invited to interact with small world experiences. The children explored Dinosaurs and ocean animals. Small world experiences provide our children to be creative and to explore imaginative play. Which the children then extended through play with cars

As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo! See more
