25.01.2022 Dear families, As Greater Brisbane prepares for the three-day lockdown I wanted to share our plans for Monday January 11 with you. We will be open with all our usual strict hygiene practices in place... As a national organisation Goodstart is very experienced in dealing with COVID-19 lockdowns and we’re here to help your family and minimise any disruptions to your child’s early learning. If you decide to keep your child at home, it will be treated as a normal absence day just like if your child was sick or on holidays. Health and hygiene Throughout COVID we have had the strictest health and hygiene measures in place, and this will continue. Our national health and safety team have been closely monitoring the situation and on Monday you will need to: Wear a mask when you come to our centre (children don’t need to) Drop off and pick up your child at our foyer Limit to one parent and keep visit to under 15 minutes We will also: Limit the movement of staff between centres Reduce non-essential visitors Cancel all tours and orientations planned for Monday Anyone experiencing the mildest symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat or runny nose, are asked to not attend the centre and go forward immediately for testing, then isolate until they receive a negative result. 23.01.2022 What’s Happening Next Week at Goodstart Carindale: We have an amazing week of learning and engagement planned for our children, linking our experiences to our Health and Wellbeing program ensure our children developing holistically during their journey at the service. Monday 3.5.21 - Labour Day Public Holiday... Centre is Closed Tuesday 4.5.21 - Kids Boot Camp, children will be engaging in boot camp and obstacle course exercise throughout the day Wednesday 5.5.21 - Relax and Unwind, children will have the opportunity to relax in all classrooms at 10am Thursday 6.5.21 - Chinese Lessons with Miss Holly Toddlers 10am, Pre-Kindy 11am, Kindy 2pm Friday 7.5.21 - Cookie Time, children will engage in a cooking experience ready for Mother's Day on Sunday Stay tuned next week with our daily updates!! 21.01.2022 Yesterday was an exciting day here at Goodstart Carindale. We were lucky enough to have the RSPCA come and visit us and discuss the importance of being safe around animals and how to be care for their animals. The children in Kindergarten had the opportunity to give Patches the dog a little pat, hand the certificate of appreciation to the volunteers, the money raised by all our amazing families and all the donations collected. Patches the dog then went and visited Pre-Kindy and Toddlers before they headed home. Thank you to all the families who donated money to this wonderful organisation and a big thank you to the Wood family for their wonderful donation of old blankets and towels.

20.01.2022 The RSPCA is attending our centre on the 25th of November (Wednesday) at 10 am for our kindy children. By proving these opportunities our children in our community are learning gentleness and empathy for animals and living things. They are also bringing a puppy in for the children to interact with called Patches. There is a fee involved and if you can please donate $3.00 per child in the kindergarten room for this visit. As this is greatly appreciated and will go towards as...sisting our animals in the RSPCA and this charity event. We look forward to all the learning that will occur this month. We are also asking families if you have any old towels or blankets that you may like to donate these on the day as the RSPCA are in desperate need of towels and sheets. 19.01.2022 We have a fantastic day planned tomorrow with lots of learning and engagement at Carindale. There are so many valuable learning opportunities available for our children and we look forward to another great day ahead!! What’s Happening Tomorrow -... -We will be celebrating Harmony Day Please come dressed in your family's traditional cultural dress or wear the colour Orange. Each room will hold their own age appropriate themed activities to celebrate Harmony Day. -Movement and Yoga classes with Miss Tash from 10 am on the veranda- Miss Tash will bring her dance and skills to life through her physical movement classes through yoga and dance. -Chinese Language Lessons with Miss Holly these classes start from 2:30pm every Friday. We have already received some wonderful feedback as our children are already leaning new words and can count to ten in Chinese.

11.01.2022 Today as a community we came together to commemorate ANZAC Day. Miss Jenny shared with the children the reason why ANZAC Day is one of the most important commemorative dates on our National calendar. Miss Jenny talked about the spirit of ANZAC through mateship, courage and sacrifice. Also touching on how we care for each other and the world as a whole.
