25.01.2022 The fun you can have with just a cardboard box. Today in our 3 year old kinder room after morning tea Mia and Sophia were hiding under the table when asked they both said We are playing hide and seek. After Educator Andrea explaining to them both that is not safe to hide under the table, The children and Andrea went for a walk and got a cardboard box. They then made themselves a tunnel. The children took turns to get in to the tunnel and they shared their enjoyment by smiling to with their peers and educator.

This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the many ways big and small that everyone in the community can make a difference in the life of a child. We know that parenting is like sailing a boat; it takes skill and practice, anyone can encounter rough waters from time to time, and we can all do our bit to help build the safe harbours and lighthouses that all families need. We are always here to support you, as you support your family and communities. 23.01.2022 Last Friday was Worlds Teacher’s day and our wonderful Teachers Kelly and Andrew were celebrated by the team and the children. They each got a very special gift made from their rooms children as well as a little goodie bag from our team. From the team at Goodstart Chadstone we would like to share our appreciation to both Kelly and Andrew and thank them for all their hard work, dedication, kindness, supportiveness. We don’t know what we would do without you both!

22.01.2022 Kelly our 4 year old kinder teacher set up a new experience for the Kinders to try, using magnets to pick up a letter from the sensory rice and match it to the alphabet board. Jack, Charlie, Ian and Thea all shares smiles, laughter and there achievements while participating in this new experience.

21.01.2022 Goodstart Chadstone would like to introduce Genevieve as our new Centre Director. We are all so excited to begin this new journey with Gen together with our families.

21.01.2022 This week in the Kinder room we set up an Easter activity that incorporates some mathematical concepts and involves children’s imaginations while they explore in the activity. We also did a bunny hop race together to challenge children’s endurance and gross motor skills. The children were having so much fun exploring in different activities we set up in the room!

21.01.2022 Children's Week is a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. It will run from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2020, with thousands of Victorian children taking part in the festivities. The theme for Children's Week 2020 celebrates the right of all children to choose their own friends and safely connect with others. This is based on Article 15 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This week is a celebration of childhood and showcasing children achievements.



21.01.2022 Jack, Charlie, Chloe and Aria from our kinder room were exploring "We Are Going On A Bear Hunt" at the imaginative play area. They used their imaginations to manipulate the people figurines and pretend that the people go through the river, the mud, the forest, the snowstorm and the cave.

20.01.2022 Dear families, As you know the Victoria Government announced today that they are re-instating restrictions in some areas across Victoria in light of the evolving COVID-19 situation. There are no new restrictions on early learning and care and we remain open and here to support you as we navigate through the next few weeks together.... Throughout COVID we have had the strictest health and hygiene measures in place and this will continue. Our national health and safety team have been closely monitoring the situation in Victoria and in response to the changing health risks, implemented further health, safety and hygiene restrictions across all our Victorian centres last week. The ongoing health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in our centre remains our first priority and we are committed to providing the best possible learning experiences in the safest possible environment for all children in our care. 20.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators Day and I would like to take this time to say massive thank you to all our amazing educators. I know this year hasnt been easy but you are all doing fantastic job. Happy Educators day!

20.01.2022 Some fantastic lego creations by our 3 year old kinder class today. Theo created a rocket and said it goes in the space. Aria created a tower and said this is the tallest tower I have ever made.... Evie created a shed for the car and said cars go in them. Emmett, Sophia and Essence worked together as a team and created a building site. Mia. created a boat using the tiny LEGOs. Jacob explored by joining various pieces and said I am making a road. The children have shown interest as a group as they shared and transferred their knowledge from one setting to another. They exchange their ideas and views confidently to the educator.

20.01.2022 Pyjama Day Tomorrow! (July 17th) Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is Pyjama Day at the centre! We look forward to seeing everyone getting into the comfy spirit and coming in their fresh pyjamas, robes, ugg boots etc. ... Please remember to dress for the weather and bring any extra jackets and other shoes for outdoor play! Comfy clothes have been a must during this isolation period so we look forward to a comfortable way to end the week!

18.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations are held around the country each July but this year due to COVID-19 the celebration was moved to 8th-14th of November. NAIDOC week is to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is celebrated not just in Indigenous communities but also in a number of government agencies, community organisations, local councils, workplaces and school. Here a range of photo from our toddler room and Kinder celebrating NAIDOC week through a rang of experiences such as, sand dawning’s/signs, dot painting, books and another art and craft.

18.01.2022 This week in the kinder room the book of week is The Gruffalo. Our kinder children have engaged in manipulating the gruffalo and creating the places where the snake, fox and owl stays such as the log pile house, the underground house and the treetop house.

17.01.2022 What a creation by Cassidy, Melissa, Mia, Jett and Johnny from our 4 year old kinder room. They used wonderful teamwork as they each carefully added their pieces one at a time, being careful not to knock over the tower.

17.01.2022 Hi families, This is a kind reminder that as of tomorrow the 23rd of July 2020 it is now compulsory for anyone over the age 12 to wear a face mask when entering our centre. No mask no entry. We also like to remind everyone that just inside our front door we have a freshly set up health and wellness station where our educators we be taking compulsory temperature checks and doing wellness check ins each morning during drop off.... 13.01.2022 This week are centre is celebrating NAIDCO week and all our children have been exploring and learning about the different aspect of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples culture. In our toddler the children have been learning about the colour’s of the Aboriginal flag and what each of the colours represents. 10.01.2022 Today our Toddler children explored their interests of trains while working such as team work, sharing and communication. This play based active allowed to children to build bonds and use their creative imagination. All our 4 rooms at Goodstart Chadstone have a fortnightly program based around play based experiences in our 5 main curriculum areas both indoors and outdoors. 09.01.2022 Today our 4 year old kinder class set up a fruit and vegetables stall as well as a street food stall. Our children enjoyed exploring ideas through using the specimen money and making combination of different food to create delicious dishes.

09.01.2022 This morning in the prekinder and kinder yard, we did an activity together that requires children’s coordination and cooperation by holding the two poles from each side and balancing the ball until they get to the tub. The children need to work together and concentrate on holding the ball without dropping it on the ground. As the children were doing really well for the first activity, we decided to add a bit of challenge by putting some blocks for them to walk on. The children have to stay on track and drop the ball into the tub again. They were having fun playing the game and celebrating their own achievement as well as their friends’.

08.01.2022 Tody was National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander childrens day. On this day each year Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities and all Australians, celebrate the strengths and culture of children. It is an opportunity for us to show our support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, as well as learn about the crucial impact that culture, family and community play in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child. 06.01.2022 This morning after our Kinders acknowledgement of country Teacher Kelly read a social story about wearing a mask to prepare our children for the upcoming change in our community. Our center director Ellie also came in to demonstrate how a mask works and how to put it on properly. Our children developed a really good understanding about why lots of people have started to wear a mask and that having a mask on is to keep everyone safe in our community throughout our discussion today.

06.01.2022 Since the Kinder children have been showing ongoing interest in insects, particularly in bees, butterflies and ladybugs around our garden area, this week we set up a bee activity for the children to explore and imagine. The children were engaged with their fine motor skills by manipulating the bee training chopsticks to pick up some pompoms which represent nectar and pollen and transfer them into the bee hives.
