24.01.2022 4 Year Old Kindergarten At Goodstart Cheltenham our funded 4 year old Kindergarten is delivered by Parvesh our Bachelor qualified teacher and her team of passionate educators. The children and educators in the Kindergarten have caring, strong relationships which enable the children to articulate their feelings, communicate effectively and build social relationships with their peers. The environment is rich in literacy and the children’s words and voices are visible in the... play spaces and program. Projects are always occurring across the room and the children’s interests are harboured and nurtured through these projects. 17.01.2022 DIWALI - The festival of light At Goodstart Cheltenham we celebrate the cultures and diversity of all of our families and educators. This Diwali celebrations allowed all of the children to be exposed and experience a cultural celebration which they may never have experienced before. From this the children were inspired to ask lots of questions and develop their learning through language, song and creativity in the form of light and art.

15.01.2022 EDUCATOR DAY A day to celebrate all of the hard work and effort our Educators put in to provide quality care and education to our children. Due to COVID, Educator day had to look a little different this year. At Goodstart Cheltenham our families honoured and celebrated the Educators with kind words and flowers and we honoured and celebrated our Educators by providing them with a homemade take home treat box and hosting a ZOOM certificate ceremony celebration. We think you will agree that our Educators are extraordinary!

All of the educators came together last week to do their CPR, First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training.This was a great opportunity for our team of educators to come together and further build their knowledge and practices surrounding health and safety. 08.01.2022 Covid-19 wont stop our children and families learning and connecting with our educators. Our Chef, Monique hosts a virtual cooking class every Wednesday for our families staying at home. We send out ingredients and recipes prior to the lesson. Today we made Choc Chip Cookies. Thanks to all 18 families that joined this fun and messy experience! We hope to see you next week for Banana Bread!

When we come together to build mutual respect and understanding, we shape a better future for all Australians. Reconciliation Week starts today and Goodstart Cheltenham are committed to our reconciliation journey.
05.01.2022 It is important for us to share our National Reconciliation Week celebrations with our families, especially considering this years theme: In this Together We want everyone to be able to have conversations at home about Australias history and about Aboriginal culture - what better way to start than with one of our most cherished activities - READING! ... We have filled our Community Library up with books by Aboriginal Authors and books which tell stories about Aboriginal people, Dreamtime Stories as well as books which celebrate the wonderful land, sky, sea, people and animals which we acknowledge each morning during our "Acknowledgement of Country". We hope our families use these books to start (if they havent already) conversations at home about Reconciliation Week, why it is important and what it means to them (and hopefully share it with the team here).

02.01.2022 Do you know Goodstart Cheltenham have three wonderful chickens? Our chickens are a big part of our program and the children spend a lot of time outside every day watching them, caring for them, collecting eggs as well as having a hand in feeding them. Having chickens provides so many benefits and allows children to observe and interact with an animal that they may not normally have experience with. Together with the children, we have researched and questioned the lifesty...le of chickens and explored them in different learning areas, including in our art studios, small world play and dramatic play experiences. It most importantly teaches children valuable lessons in loving, respecting and caring for their environment and world. See more
