25.01.2022 On Tuesday last week we said goodbye to our Kindy friends who are starting school. We held a wonderful graduation ceremony to celebrate the end of their learning journey here with us at Clapham. The children loved celebrating their achievements with their families. They especially loved wearing the special gowns and hats and decorating their cupcakes with Goodstart colours.

14.01.2022 Part of Goodstart's reward and recognition program for employees includes a quarterly award, where people are nominated based on peer-to-peer feedback and "shout outs" that we can do on our internal communication channels. Lucy is one of our dedicated team members, working in the Nursery, and she was the quarterly award winner for families are our primary partner! Lucy's recognition was for the role she plays in supporting new children and families in transitioning into the centre, going above and beyond what is expected of her, and her gentle guidance and support that she gives to parents as they prepare to leave their children for the first time. Lucy was invited to our state office for lunch today, to receive her award from Paula, our SA/NT State Manager. I'm sure you'll all agree that Lucy is a worthy winner. Congratulations Lucy!

13.01.2022 Here at Clapham children are central to everything we do. We want to help create better futures and provide better opportunities for children in foster care the same way we do for our children here at the Centre.

07.01.2022 Have a look at our Nursery environment, all set up invitingly and ready for our children to explore this morning. We set up learning experiences in a visually appealing way, to attract the children's attention, and through the wonders of play, they learn and grow! Each experience encourages the children's learning and development in different ways. The tunnel promotes children's gross motor skill development, while the shopping baskets and food in the home corner encourage ch...ildren to build their social skills as they interact and learn to share and take turns with one another. The stacking toys on the burgundy mat build children's fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination, as well as critical thinking skills as they start to learn basic sequencing with stacking the rings from biggest to smallest and vice versa. We also have the animals set up on the grass mat, which encourages the children to explore their environment through their senses, as well as develop their imaginative and creative play skills as they move the animals around. Through all of these experiences, our educators support the children in their play and exploration, role modelling social skills and developing language skills. See more
