24.01.2022 There has been an increase in viral gastroenteritis (gastro) in childcare centres recently. Gastro is a common illness which can be more serious for young child...ren, older people and people with pre-existing conditions. Gastro is highly infectious, but you can help stop the spread by following these tips: Keep children at home while unwell. Children should not return to childcare until no diarrhoea or vomiting for 48 hours. Avoid preparing food for others for at least 24 hours if you have been sick. Wash hands with soap and running water. Wipe down surfaces. Seek medical advice if you are concerned or there are signs of dehydration, fever, severe abdominal pain or bloody diarrhoea. 24.01.2022 As part of Early Learning Matters week 2019, we had local federal member Nicolle Flint, visit our Centre. Nicolle spent some time with children and educators, partaking in some sign language with our Toddlers, before getting a guided tour of our Kindy room. The children were keen to ask Nicolle lots of questions and show her things they had been working on in the room that morning. Our Centre Director, Brooke got the opportunity to share the benefits of Early Childhood education and how vital it is to a childs brain development in their first five years!

22.01.2022 With some families keeping their children at home, its been great getting updates of what they are doing. Some of our families have been using Goodstarts new platform to further develop their childrens learning at home. One of our parents shared this with the centres educators of their child enjoying a water play activity from Goodstart@Home this morning. She enjoyed finding toys around the house which would make tracks/prints, then expanded to her feet/hands and making prints on different surfaces

22.01.2022 Relationships are EVERYTHING!!

10.01.2022 One day, your child might love the spaghetti youve served up, the next day, he or she is battling you at the dinner table declaring I dont like it. Sound familiar? Dont worry youre not alone says Goodstarts Senior Occupational Therapist Sally Fitzgerald. "The journey of fussy eating or problem feeding is one many parents face on a daily basis. However, there are some simple steps you can work through to help enhance the mealtime experience for everyone." https://bit.ly/2vTw7rE

10.01.2022 The Government has announced a new Child Care Package where families can access free child care up until the end of June 2020. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to continue to support the learning and development outcomes of the children in our care, as well as welcome new children to our Goodstart family. Heres what it means for your family. Please contact us if you would like further information.

10.01.2022 The year before school is so important for young children. It’s where they learn the skills to develop the confidence they need to make a smooth transition to school. At Goodstart the Kindergarten program is evidence based and is specifically designed for children aged 3-5 years. The curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which is delivered by degree-qualified Early Childhood Teachers. This program nurtures children’s collaboration, communication, creativi...ty and critical thinking skills. Our approach gives your child the full benefits of a daily learning program while you are supported with the longer care hours we provide. That means your child gets the best start to their schooling, while you juggle the day-to-day demands of life. Find out more at: www.goodstart.org.au/kindergarten-sa

09.01.2022 This is an image weve come across that simply explains the latest advice from the Prime Minister around Australias response to COVID-19. We just wanted to reassure you that our centre is open and we will continue to provide an essential service to our children and families. Goodstart is well prepared and has been planning around COVID-19 since early January.... Our teams are highly trained in dealing with infectious diseases and we have Public Health approved infection control processes. We use hospital-grade cleaning products and have rigorous hygiene practices and protocols in place. It is important to remember that maintaining your childs daily routines and positive relationships can be beneficial during uncertain and stressful times such as these. Our priorities are ensuring the ongoing safety, health and wellbeing of everyone in our Goodstart family and continuing to provide the highest standard of early learning and care in our 665 centres across Australia for the families that rely on us each day.

09.01.2022 Sending a HUGE thank you to all of our generous familiies and Centre educators who donated to our Vinnies Christmas Appeal for 2019! We collected a large variety of assorted toys and foods to share with those in need this Christmas period. We are so happy we could help with their festive season, even just a little bit!

08.01.2022 Our PreKindy and Kindy children recently had the opportunity for a trial with Little Tennis Stars. The children enthusiastically joined in, challenging their hand-eye coordination and gross motor movement/coordination. The children worked in small groups to use their whole bodies during this activity and displayed their ability to follow instruction well to work towards achieving their goals!

06.01.2022 2020 has been a year like no other. A year to remind ourselves what we’re truly for. We’re excited to share with you a short TV ad we’ve put together that looks back on the year that was and how we all came together in this extraordinary year. We adapted to change, tackled a global pandemic head on and never lost sight of what really mattered early learning, care and support for children, no matter what. Because we’re Goodstart. ... 06.01.2022 Today we participated in crazy hair day to raise funds for the worlds greatest shave. One of our educators will be shaving her head in support, so our Clovelly Park family came together to raise funds for this amazing cause and have some fun with colourful and crazy hair.

05.01.2022 We would like to send out a huge thank you to Nespresso for donating milk to our Centre. We feel so greatful that the community has come together and helped out when needed in these challenging times.

04.01.2022 We would like to thank one of our parents for kindly making masks for our educators. We also have a couple more to share with families. The educators do not wear the masks when with the children, however wear them at all other times when they are not at home or in the Centre. Thank you so much for helping to keep our educators and families safe.

04.01.2022 We were lucky enough to have Helen from Bunnings Edwardstown visit today to help us update our Vegetable garden today, helping us plant, beetroot, spring onion, carrots and lettuce. We also planted some gorgeous marigold flowers to help us attract some lady bugs to our wonderful garden area! Our Kindy children had pre-prepared our garden beds yesterday, ready for todays botanic adventure and were very involved in all aspects of the process. Educators use this as part of our curriculum aimed at fostering childrens interest and knowledge, taking responsibility for our garden and helping to cultivate it and watch it grow!
