20.01.2022 You will teach them to fly, but they will not fly your flight. You will teach them to dream, but they will not dream your dream. 15.01.2022 In HUGE #thankyouweek news our CEO Julia Davison just announced that all permanent Goodstart centre team members who worked tirelessly through COVID (and still ...continue to do so) will get a free day off on us! This is on the back of the exciting update yesterday that every Goodstarter in our centres will also be receiving a surprise gift pack (worth $200) from our friends over at Good360 Australia as a thank you from them! #thankyouweek #loveourGoodstarters
15.01.2022 Next Wednesday 2 September is Early Childhood Educators' Day! This year it coincides with the start of spring and we thought what better way to celebrate than ...to say it with flowers! We are calling on our families to help fill our centres with greenery on this important day! It doesn’t matter whether you bring a plant from a shop, something from your garden or even a sneaky snip from the side of the road it will surely put a smile on the faces of our well-deserving teams! 05.01.2022 We think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, ...families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our ‘Goodstarters’ rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So we’ve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to celebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime we'd love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether

02.01.2022 'Understanding basic #brain #development is a big factor in why I chose positive parenting. This is a very simplistic model of a very complex organ, but think o...f the brain in terms of two parts an upper brain and a lower brain. The lower brain is fully developed at birth and regulates functions like breathing, digestion, reflexes, and heart rate. The upper brain is developing in infancy and continues to develop throughout childhood, not reaching maturation until the mid 20's! The upstairs brain is responsible for emotions control, empathy, and complex thinking. Information is key to understanding behaviors such as tantrums and aggression, because when you realize that a toddler simply does not have the cognitive capability to pause and reflect (a function of the underdeveloped upstairs brain), suddenly you understand that this isn't poor #behavior but purely an issue of brain development. This knowledge helps us provide #empathy and #understanding in situations which would otherwise cause us a lot of frustration.' Rebecca Eanes #neurochild #brainscience #development
02.01.2022 Goodstart@Home is FREE for our families! Have you signed up? We’re so excited to let you know more than 24,000 families have already signed up to our free online at-home learning and activity hub Goodstart@Home. The most popular areas for famlies so far seem to be - Routines for 3-5 year olds, and... - Social and emotional wellbeing activities for toddlers! Understandable, considering we are all spending so much more time at home together at the moment. Which is probably why we’ve also sold more than 60 of our Family Behaviour Support Kits, which are full of helpful charts, tools and resources around routines, emotions and supporting children’s behaviour. If you haven’t yet checked out this kit we highly recommend it! Signing up to Goodstart@Home it’s really easy (and free!) If you haven’t yet signed up to Goodstart@Home here’s how to do it in three simple steps: 1. The first step is to check your email. You’ll have an email from Goodstart with a ‘unique ink’ that you need to click on to be able to sign up to the site for free. Each family has their own unique link. 2. It will take you to the site and ask you to enter your email and create a password 3. Once you’ve signed up then you just log in each time via the Goodstart@Home website each time with your username (email) and the password you created. If you can’t find your link email the Goodstart@Home team at [email protected] We’d love you to share your experiences of Goodstart@Home and share the word with your friends and family using #gsathome. Happy learning!
