21.01.2022 Watching adults whistle can be fascinating for children. Can you whistle? Remi asked her educator Peta I can Remi, would you like to hear it Yes... How do you make that sound Remi asked I’ll show you I begin by showing Remi and Jack how to make a pucker position with their lips, just like if they were to say to say the ooooo sound the lips are in the same position, as that is the sound that comes out first. And that’s is how we began our learning journey on How to whistle.

Families can register online and Brinbank will contact you to arrange for a pack to be delivered, they can also arrange for a delivery books if theyd like (we have resumed our home delivery service). 20.01.2022 What amazing learning experience the children have been enjoying, definitely can feel spring is in the air. The children have been extremely excited about the visit we have received in our garden from Sarah Rose the butterfly & Penelope the worm. To continue with children learning educators set up a table with insects and bugs magnifying glass bringing in leaves and rocks in our science area, In our art area children design their own butterfly, a vine with leaves and pict...ures of bugs & insects. . Within this experience children are able to form a knowledge of nature and a love for protecting our wild life, the children are very curious & thus leading them to walking around investigating the dirt finding all kinds of different bugs from ants to butchy boys. 14.01.2022 The kinder yard has loose part for the children to use freely. I observe the children attempting to make a see-saw using tyres and beams, I placed a A-frame in the yard. The children quickly placed it with the beam and now we have a see-saw. See-saw encourage children to explore their cognitive skills. Does it balance? ... Which end is heavier? Lighter? Why do you think so? What happens when one child or the other moves toward the middle of the seesaw? Why do you think that happens? What positions provide the most satisfying ride? See more

13.01.2022 Children are curious when their educators go on holiday asking many questions, enjoying the photos we take and listening to our stories about what we did. As they looked through Peta’s photos the kinder children showed interest in the nature pictures asking if I had seen platypus or even a koala,unfortunately I wasn’t lucky enough to see them in the wild. With the children interest in the nature photos our discussion turn to making our own forest. Using photos the children picked out we made the background, using logs and bushes some plants, pictures of animals the children had chosen, we now have own Australian forest children can explore.

13.01.2022 Play dough ingredients 2cups of flour 1 cup of salt 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar 2 tablespoons of either oil or coconut oil... 1 1/4 of boiling water You can either put food colouring/flavour or spices. Mix all dry ingredients together place oil & water mix until combined. Play dough will be warm, allow it to rest for few minutes Let the fun begin. 07.01.2022 As a part of pur united we fight it fundraiser initiative, we have held a week of children and educators coming in the colours pink, blue and yellow to show their support. The families have generously donated money as well as some children donating from their personal piggy banks to help raise funds for these amazing foundations. This week we have raised a total of $300 on donations alone! We are so very grateful and thankful to all the families, educators and our local community that have contributed to the cause both this week and in the past few weeks! 05.01.2022 Hello Everyone, Derrimut Primary School is Calling all new Foundation (Prep) Enrolments for 2021 We understand that at this time parents of our future students are finding it difficult to get enrolment forms for our school, therefore, we have a range of onsite and online options for you over the coming week and into term 4. We will be hosting 2 opportunities for parents to come to the school to collect enrolment forms and drop these back to us. These will be situated at the... front gate of the school.
