25.01.2022 Congratulations to Chris for achieving her Full Teachers Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching! In Victoria, teachers are provisionally registered for 2 years after graduating with their teaching degree. As part of their pathway to becoming a fully registered teacher, they are required to demonstrate that they meet all 7 Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at the proficient level. As you can imagine, much time and effort goes into the development of the necessary skills and knowledge to be considered a ‘proficient’ teacher. Yarra Ranges Families will provide information and resources to help families support and engage their children - fun learning ideas and activities, interesting posts and information and supports for parental health and wellbeing. Were so excited to let you know more than 24,000 families have already signed up to our free online at-home learning and activity hub Goodstart@Home. The most popular areas for famlies so far seem to be - Routines for 3-5 year olds, and... - Social and emotional wellbeing activities for toddlers! Understandable, considering we are all spending so much more time at home together at the moment. Which is probably why weve also sold more than 60 of our Family Behaviour Support Kits, which are full of helpful charts, tools and resources around routines, emotions and supporting childrens behaviour. If you havent yet checked out this kit we highly recommend it! Signing up to Goodstart@Home its really easy (and free!) If you havent yet signed up to Goodstart@Home heres how to do it in three simple steps: 1. The first step is to check your email. Youll have an email from Goodstart with a unique ink that you need to click on to be able to sign up to the site for free. Each family has their own unique link. 2. 15.01.2022 In December 2020, Goodstart management reps proposed their full package of new pay and conditions during Enterprise Bargaining. It contains some welcome improvements. But the Goodstart proposal is still lacking in so many much needed improvements for our educators such as a fair pay rise. Our union has put together a petition to help us show Julia Davidson (CEO of Goodstart Early Learning) that our educators are our most valuable recourse and they deserve the best!
