05.01.2022 Child Literacy is central to United Way WA's programs through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and Paint the Town REaD. During Children's Week why not help ...a child in WA have access to books and reading materials by donating today. In 2018 United Way WA was able to: - Support 46 children with free monthly books and a parents tip sheets in the Kwinana and Rockingham areas in our Imagination Library program - Initiate 7 new communities for a total of 14 in the Paint the Town REaD early literacy initiative - Facilitate 14 community literacy events through Paint the Swan REaD - Host 1 industry seminar discussing the current issues affecting literacy and education in WA - Make 303 phonics and morpheme literacy packs for community partner Dyslexia SPELD Foundation - Support 3 Read, Play, Grow programs across Ellenbrook, Stratton and Swan View with community partner CLAN Midland - Support 5 Boost programs across Balga, Calista, Ellenbrook and Nollamara with community partner CLAN Midland Help us to support more children in WA by donating in Children's Week 2019.
