23.01.2022 This morning while outside we found an orange ladybug which sparked a conversation around how we need to be gentle with bugs and insects such as lady bugs We spoke about where the lady bug belongs and how we can make sure the lady bug stays safe by placing it in the garden carefully and leaving it alone so it can go back to its home. Once we placed the lady bug back into the garden, we continued to search for other bugs and insects - as we were carefully looking around the gardens we continued to share with our friends that if we find a bug or insect we can’t hurt it and we need to be gentle with it or leave it in the garden to make sure it stays safe. #goodstartearlylearningtownsville #ladybugs #outdoor #discover #TheLearningNeverStops

22.01.2022 The Very Brave Bear: Small sensory world Continuing our interest in the series from the The Very Cranky Bear, Miss Emma introduced a sensory experience that extended from the story The Very Brave Bear. 17.01.2022 Today is recognised as ‘Global Hand Washing Day’, so we demonstrated our super hand washing techniques across the service ensuring we pumped soap into our hand, rubbed the soap all over our hands (top, bottom, in between) and not forgetting our thumbs! 15.01.2022 Today, some of our Kindergarten friends joined Miss Jo on the mat and engaged in some counting using our connector blocks. Miss Jo provided the children with a sheet which had the amount of numbers required for each line in numerical order from 1-10. The children used their teamwork skills to gather the connector blocks and place them in order. Children counted the blocks together, 1... 2... 3..., as they added them together to make rows. Through this experience, children are developing their numeracy skills and are collaborating together with positive interactions. #goodstartearlylearningtownsville #numbers

Willow the Wallaby also made her way to our kindy, Ms Murray was a little shocked because she was meant to be at school. 09.01.2022 Happy Wednesday Kindergarten Friends and Families! This morning we started our day with some very important taste testing! Continuing on with our spontaneous interest in bees and there lifecycle, Miss Christine invited the children to join her at the inquiry table. At the table, there was two plates, one with Coles Honey and the other with Black River Honey. Miss Christine offered the children two paddle pop sticks, which they were encouraged to use dip in the honey. Children were then encouraged to use there sense of taste to describe what they thought the honey tasted like. 08.01.2022 This morning during our group session, we joined Miss Emma as she read a Dreamtime story called The Bat and the Crocodile. Throughout the story we spotted and identified the different Australian animals that we could see. As an extension from the story, we re-created a scene from the book. 05.01.2022 Miss Emma drew used her amazing drawing skills to create a Recycled car track. She drew some roads, car parks, houses, schools and supermarkets on a recycled piece of cardboard. The children showed interest in the car track as they drove their cars all over the road, parked in the car park of Woolworths to get the groceries and drove home to their seperate houses. This promoted role play and negotiation of which direction the cars would take to venture home. #goodstartearlylearningtownsville #cartrackfun
