25.01.2022 Today put Kindergarten class participated in a First Aid course with Anne from Cool Kids First Aid Ck First Aid, we had so much fun learning how to use the phone when we need to call 000 in an emergency, we also learnt how to use bandages and the importance of using the recovery position when someone is hurt. Anne was so helpful to our children and we know that everyone will know exactly what to do in an emergency situation. #firstaidtraining #kindergarten #000

25.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo!

A very busy morning was had by our Pre Kindergarten children as they worked together to make their own bee hives from recycled products. 22.01.2022 What a busy week we have had in the kindergarten room, with our children focusing on their transition to school routines, from wearing our school uniforms to packing away our belongings in to our bags, to Q&A sessions with the principals from our local schools. Today we received some rewards from the Daniel Morcombe Foundation for their great fundraising efforts. 20.01.2022 Today our pre kindergarten and Kindergarten children had a visit from GC the puppy and CC the kitten from the Gold Coast City Council, we learnt a lot of valuable information about how to care for our animals and also about how important it is to ask people before we pat their dogs out in public. We recently launched a new online at-home learning and activity hub called Goodstart@Home and were overwhelmed with the response from families. In less than two weeks we had almost 10,000 families sign up! This inspired us to explore how we might be able to grow this further and offer even more to families across Australia.... Over the past week we’ve been busy working behind the scenes to create an enhanced version of Goodstart@Home on a brand-new platform, which will take our support for your at-home learning journey to a whole new level! 14.01.2022 Today we were also very excited to harvest our lettuce from the Kindergarten veggie garden. After all these weeks of watering and caring for the veggie garden the children were able to use the lettuce to make delicious sandwiches. By using healthy and safe practices the children were able to make tasty ham, lettuce and cheese sandwiches. As the children participated in this cooking experience they were not only able to work on healthy practices but also develop more understand of sustainable practices. 10.01.2022 What a busy day of learning and exploring it has been for the Kindergarten children today. Following on with science week's theme of 'Deep Blue' the Kindergarten children spent the morning exploring the ocean zones as well as density of liquid. The children were presented with 5 different liquids (glucose syrup, dish washing liquid, water, oil and rubbing alcohol) that had different densities and were added to a jar in order of most dense to least dense. Each liquid represent...ed a different ocean zone and demonstrated to the children the amount of light that each zone receives. We then used a torch to clearly see each of the ocean zone and how each liquid separated from the other. Throughout the day the children took turns at using the the torch to take a closer look at the experiment. As the children engaged in this experiment they were able to build positive dispositions towards learning and show increased confidence and involvement. #scienceweek #ocean #experiment

Over the next few weeks Goodstart Gaven are supporting RizeUp, with the collection of "pillows", Rize Up are an organistaion who support families of Doemstic Violence, to move and set up a new life, for them this means that they rely heavily on the donations of the public to help support families in need. On average Rize Up support 5-7 families per week, which in turn means they need up to 30 brand new pillows per week, as you can imagine thi...s would not be an easy task to source this many new pillows a week, this is where we come in.. Over the next 2 weeks Goodstart Gaven are asking if any of our friends and families would be able to donate a 2 pack of brand new pillows to our centre, in which we will personally deliver to Rize Up on your behalf.
