23.01.2022 Wearing masks can be a little scary for our little ones, here at Goodstart Glen Huntly we have created a masked wall of fame. We’ve invited educators past and present, parents and extended family members to send in pictures of themselves in masks. (and of course included some of our favourite masked characters). Thanks to everyone for contributing! We are exciting to keep adding to our wall. ... #wearamask See more
21.01.2022 As you will be aware the Victorian Premier has announced that from Sunday night Melbourne will move to Stage 4 restrictions with stronger rules to limit the movement of people and limit the spread of this virus across the city. New restrictions for schools and early learning centres will apply from Wednesday. At this stage all our centres will remain open for the children of essential and emergency workers as well as for vulnerable children.... We are currently working through the detail of this with the Government to determine these definitions. As soon as we have more information we will provide an update via email and Storypark. I appreciate this is an uncertain time for many of our families but please be assured we are here to support you and your children as much as we can.
18.01.2022 Our Toddler room space investigation is out of this world! Lockdown 2.0 has not stopped us from exploring, we are learning about each planet, it’s proximity to the sun and about each individual planets climate. Like did you know Venus has temperatures of over 450 degrees! And is listed as the hottest planet in our solar system.

12.01.2022 Going through your bookshelf during this 5 day lockdown? Didn’t make it the the shops but in need of something to read? Want to be an active participant in your community? Why not use your limited time outside to stroll over to 31 O’Loughlan St, borrow a book or contribute to the growing community library. We are so thankful to be apart of such a wonderful community
10.01.2022 Thank you to Caulfield South Community House Garden. Access to the community garden has been closed recently and in an effort to continue to support our local community they have been providing free seedlings every weekend. We picked out some capsicum seedlings for our nursery children to plant. Gardening can benefit children of all ages as it provides opportunities for children to learn and develop inquiry skills and critical thinking abilities. ... Gardening is an excellent sensory activity, children can feel the dirt, flowers, fruit, leaves and seeds. They can hear the rustling of leaves, smell fruit, herbs and plants and eventually taste the rewards of their efforts. Gardening also helps to foster a sense of environmental responsibility and sustainable practice and aids in the development of our motor skills and concentration abilities. Thank you again to Caulfield Community House Garden for continuing to support community interaction and for providing us with such valuable learning opportunities. we promise to look after our new garden additions
09.01.2022 This Sunday is going to be Anzac Day on which we acknowledge those who have died in services to our nation. During group time, we talked about what is Anzac Day, what happened on Anzac Day and why we use poppy-flower of remembrance to show respect to those brave soldiers. With the combination of natural materials, (petals and stems) and artificial materials, we made our own poppy. Lest we forget.
08.01.2022 This year, we celebrated Lunar New Year by engaging children in different learning experiences. We started the project by making Chinese couplets and lanterns to decorate our centre. We learnt how to greet each other and wish people prosperity in Chinese. Kinder children also tried to make spring rolls, which are typical Chinese food, by themselves and they enjoyed eating them so much. Throughout the week, we also learnt about Chinese Zodiac and children were very curious to find out what Zodiac animal they belong to.
06.01.2022 A huge thank you to Bunnings Warehouse Australia at Chadstone for helping our vision of a beautiful, native garden space come to life! We greatly value this community connection and are so very appreciative of all the help and support offered by Bruce, Julian and the entire team at Bunnings Chadstone. We love our new garden!

05.01.2022 Roar! International Tiger Day. On Wednesday 29th it was international Tiger day, we practiced our most majestic roars, researched different types of tigers, their natural habitat and diet. Our older children used their fine motor skills to cut orange paper and paste it to ready prepared paper plates. We added black stripes and orange ears. Our nursery room chose to decorate their masks by mixing red and yellow paint showing children the colour transformation, we painted our ...masks and were very happy with our final products. We created some interesting tigers masks that we wore around our classrooms and in our out door yard as we participated in dramatic play. What a fabulous day we had investigating all things Tiger.
